Richard Brenner Obituary

Richard D. Brenner, 59, of Vinton, Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 8, 2009. He was born in Nellingen, Germany on December 22, 1949, and was proud to become a citizen of the United States of America on July 4, 1975. Richard never met a stranger and enjoyed NASCAR, bowling and being with his friends and family. He was also proud to be a past master of the Vinton Masonic Lodge # 204. He is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Henry P. Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Minerva Ann Johnson Brenner; his mother Erika Brenner Dryfoose; his mother-in-law, Gertrude Johnson; two sisters-in-law, Carol Johnson, Susan (John) Cloeter; four brothers-in-law, Pitman (Susie) Johnson, Leonard (Sandy) Johnson, Kenny (Mary Lynn) Johnson, and Robert (Anne) Johnson; three half sisters, Doreen (John) Taylor, Susan and Annette Gagnon; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 2 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2009. Interment with Masonic rites by the Vinton Masonic Lodge # 204 will be in Evergreen Burial Park. The Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday December 11, 2009 at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. 540-982-2221.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort. I worked with Richard for years, B&R auto parts, We help start Woods auto parts, cinderblock shelfs, full of parts, the man could tell a story, you could pick his voice out of a crowd, I have a pic of him Kyle and Richard Petty on both sides, I remember the airplanes,the bunch of guys would go to Talladaga, I live upstair in a tri-plex ON Jefferson st years ago. I wished I had known, but I was dealing with the loss of my brother on Monday, RICHARD was a good friend, sorry I lost touch over the years.and sorry for your loss. Allen

Richard was a true and faithfull brother to his lodge and to me, it was not a time during a meeting that Richard did'nt make me bust out laughing, he was always a pleasure to be around and he served his lodge well for many years. we have truly lost a brother today.
