It was just a few months ago when I came upon the name "Ty Farnham" on one of my fried's list on Facebook. I sent him a message and friend request. He accepted. You see, back in the 70's, my family lived in Hawaii on Hickam AFB and lived right next door to the Farnham's (we were 1704C they were 1704B). My younger brother and Ty were "childhood friends." After Ty and I became FB friends, we would send each other notes about how we were doing playing those silly FB games. He would send me "gifts"...well, I still have 2 gifts that he sent that I cannot "accept or ignore" because I don't want them to go away. Because of Ty, I was able to find another childhood friend I went to school with back in the 70's...it was his cousin Debbie. I am forever grateful for the time I spent being Ty's neighbor and Facebook friend. He is deeply missed!

I'll never forget the good 'ole days!
aaaahhh, The sweet smell of jet A and the scream of a turbine engine...
I remember you never had a cruel bone in your body. Always wore a hat, it was like a permanent fixture!
Eat at Joe's Crab shack in MYR when I was going thru a very difficult time. You and Dreama are such giving loving people! I remember how happy you both made each other! I remember going to your 'new' house after you guys 1st moved in and getting the grand tour and you talking about all the projects you had planned.
You will be very missed, my friend. Samantha is right, you are just out of our sight, your spirit will be right beside us. You are now with and will be honored as an ancestor!

Ty,
I still can't grasp that you are not with us anymore. You were the best dad you could be to me and Rick. You went out of your way to show me how much you cared. You taught me how to cook steaks the right way and always surprised me with a clean car and full tank of gas...I loved how we joked and picked on each other. I am gonna miss you so much. I wanted you to give me away when I get married in May..you may not be there in body but your spirit will be right beside me. You loved Ava with all your heart and I know you will be watching over her until she can be with you again. I am gonna make sure she never forgets her Granpa Ty....I love you so much and we will take care of mom...you don't need to worry about her. We will all be together again! Love forever- Sam

I will never forget back in the late 90s a bunch of us at the airport piled in cars after the last flight came in and Ty was in the group. There were 2 car loads of us and we drove to Smith Mt Lake and got in Mooses boat and went out to an island and went swimming for most of the night. When ever I think of Ty I will think of that and how happy he was when he married Dreama. We are all going to miss a wonderful man with a big heart. His heart was so big it failed him. I am sure there is a nice place for him in heaven. He was a truly kind man.

T-Daddy, I gonna miss you! From the days back at Hickam AFB (the "docks" and the commissary), to the fishing trips in NC, to the Harley rides in Vegas! 25 years and we never lost touch with each other, no matter where we were. I have lost one of the best friends I have. Dreama, stay strong. That's what Ty would want. Nonie and I will always be here for you.

I served in the Air Force with Ty at Rhein Main Air Base Germany. Ty was known as a gentle soul that took his POL (Fuels Specialist) responsibilities very seriously and worked hard to complete them often ahead of others. We had just recently re-connected on Face Book after 25 plus years..and I enjoyed talking about our time in Germany. Will miss him.

Uncle Ty,I will always remember how much you mean to me and all the things you have done for me over the years, like taking me to the hospital in Myrtle beach and to find out I broke my foot and didn't get mad. I will miss seeing your wonderful smile. For as long as I've known you I don't think I have ever seen that smile on your face not there. I will always remember you Uncle Ty. You are truly the BEST uncle I will ever have. I will always treasure our memories. You and Skylar have fun in Heaven. I will see you again one day. I will always Love you "Cho-Cho Man."

The sounds of his laughter echo in my mind; his smile fixed in my memory; my soul is at half-mast this day as I feel the Lord robbed us like a thief in the night; I do not know Your plan, dear God, so please give me the strength to hold on until Your will unfolds.
