Helen Slemp Obituary

Mrs. Helen Elizabeth Sanders Slemp, 96, of Greeneville, Tenn., formerly of Kingsport, Tenn., died December 19, 2009, following and extended illness. She was the daughter of Joseph R. Sanders and Cora Alice Keller Sanders. Preceding Mrs. Slemp in death were her husband, Andrew Alfred Slemp; a brother; and two sisters. Mrs. Slemp is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Andrew Alfred Slemp Jr. and Sondra, of Roanoke, Va.; and a daughter and son-in-law, Martha Slemp Wiley and Larry, of Greeneville, Tenn. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Andrew Alfred Slemp III and wife, Cheyrl, of Talbott, Tenn., S.J. Robert Slemp and wife, Wendy, of Roanoke, Va., Julia Elizabeth Slemp Larro and husband, Michael, of Midlothian, Va., Douglas Larry Wiley and wife, Melanie, of Boiling Springs, S.C., and Laurann Elizabeth Wiley, of Greeneville, Tenn.; nine great-grandchildren survive Mrs. Slemp, Erica Bailey Slemp, Elisabeth Page Larro, Mitchell Andrew Robert Larro, Andrew John Bradley Slemp, Anna Reese Slemp, Jarrett Michael Morie, Elliott Russell Morie, Elijah Elliott Wiley, Jacob Douglas Wiley and another baby due in May. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home in Greeneville, Tenn., from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. followed by a service at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. George Kirkland and the Rev. Larry Wiley will officiate. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at Zion Cemetery in Baileyton, Tenn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to First Broad Street United Methodist Church Music Fund, P.O. Box 1346, Kingsport, Tenn. 37662; Central Baptist Church, P.O.
