My sister told me after she was diagnosed with this cancer that she did not want to have any regrets. I wish I was able to fulfill that thought for myself. I wish now that I had said these words at her service...
Susan was a strong willed woman who took delight in her family and pride in her work. We're not saying goodbye, only a "see ya later" as we will all be together again. What a sister! I remember babysitting for my nieces during the summers and trying to please my sister by cleaning the house weekly for her in addition to that. You see when she divorced she only recieved $100 a month for two little girls. Susan rose above the task to become a devoted mom and one of our valley's most desireable women in the insurance business. She worked hard to achieve the best she could be for her girls as well her employer. She took great pride in her work, hard to match these days. When I would clean for her during those old days, the most important thought that comes to mind is how she praised my work. She made me feel so absolutely good about what I had done for her. This sister of mine, of which I have two and would not trade for anything, let me take her brand new Granada to the beach for senior week. We were desparate to have another vehicle for transportation at the last minute and she stood up to the plate offering her new car! What a gal!! She let us have a senior party at her house many years ago. A real hoot of a time! Everyone spent the night! She rallied my brothers and sister when my car got broken into to help pay for the deductible. She gave of herself unselfishly to be an important caretaker of our mom and dad throughout their days plagued with illness and inability. She will be missed greatly; we will continue to think of her and all of our good times. She will be with us just as our mom, dad, grandparents, uncle and cousin are in spirit. We will be together again. In a blink of an eye. I love you sis!

Lewis,
I could not be there yesterday, but wanted you to know that you and the family are in my thoughts and prayers. I'll always remember Susan as such a strong woman who loved life and especially her family. The love and care that you provided for Susan during her most difficult times speaks volumes. She was very blessed to have you and I know you feel the same for her. Now Susan would want you to take care of you.
We are all blessed to have shared a small part of Susan's life and I'll cherish our memories forever.

Dear Becky, Jennifer and families,
My deepest thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I enjoyed spending so much time with your mother as a youngster spending many days and nights at your home growing up. She was a lovely lady. I wish much peace and many blessings upon your family during this time.
