Aleta Reynolds Obituary

Aleta Stoots Reynolds died on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 in South Bend, Indiana. She was born in Austinville, Va., and was the daughter of the late John and Emily Stoots. She lived for many years in Wythe County. Her job took her to Altavista, Va., where she made many new friends. Upon her retirement, she moved to Indiana to be near her family. Aleta was married to Nicholas G. Reynolds who preceded her in death. Aleta was a long time member of Fort Chiswell United Methodist Church and later Lane Memorial United Methodist Church of Altavista. Aleta was an avid sports fan, excellent at needlework and a wonderful mother and grandmother. She will be sorely missed. Aleta is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Fred Munsey of Granger, Ind.; her son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Cindy Reynolds of Melissa, Texas; her brother, Alton Stoots of Lynchburg, Va.; five grandchildren, Katherine Munsey of Charlottesville, Va., Alexandra Munsey of Bloomington, Ind., Karen Vest, Kevin Reynolds and Sarah Reynolds all of Austin, Texas; two greatgrandchildren, Ryan and Evan Vest of Austin, Texas; many nieces; nephews; and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 1 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Home. Interment will follow at West End Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 28, 2009. Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, Va., is in charge of arrangements.

Joyce and family,
I will always remember your Mom's beautiful smile. She was a fine lady and the last time I saw her, which was several years ago, she was so glad that the Madison College friends of 30+ years always stayed in contact with each other. Love you all and will be continuing to pray for your peace and comfort during this time.
