Arlene Stoller Obituary

Arlene Witt Stoller, 88, of Roanoke, died Thursday December 31, 2009. She was predeceased by her husband, Murray A. Stoller, daughter, Laurel A. Stoller and sister, Jeanette Witt Burt. Arlene was a graduate of Jefferson High School, University of Virginia School of Nursing, and the University of Richmond School of Christian Education. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she served in many capacities, including Sunday School Teacher and Church Clerk, and a longtime community volunteer where she served on the Boards of the Girl Scouts, League of Women Voters, RADAR, and the Roanoke Democratic Women. Arlene is survived by her daughter, Judith S. Curtis; son-in-law, C. Thomas Curtis; grandsons, Wesley T. Curtis, Charles M. Curtis, John A. Curtis; nephew, Brian A. Burt; and several other nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and many friends. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 4, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Donna Hopkins Britt officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution please consider the Calvary Baptist Church, 608 Campbell Ave. SW, Roanoke, VA 24016, or a charity of your choice.
