Frances Farrell Obituary

Fran passed away on December 31, 2009 peacefully at her home in Roanoke, Va. after a long courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her son, Fred, of Roanoke, Va.; her daughter, Cathy, of Highland Lakes, N.J.; her son-in-law, Ted; and two granddaughters, Sarah and Rebecca; and her very dear friend, Betty Jean Payne. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed terribly. She worked as a special needs school bus driver in New York for 21 years and as a school bus driver in Roanoke City for 15 years. During her lifetime she adopted countless unwanted pets who now feel the loss of her. She was an avid supporter of many animal rescue groups and lived the philosophy herself. There will be a private family viewing followed by the funeral. Arrangements by Oakey's North Chapel, 540-362-1237.
