Shawn Henry Obituary
Shawn was baptized at an early age by the late Reverend Dr. Metz T. Coker at Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church. He attended Sunday School on a regular basis and was a member of the Junior Usher Board.
He attended Roanoke County Schools graduating from Northside High School in 1997 and served in the United States Navy for two years.
Shawn will always be remembered by his devoted mother, Patricia Waller Henry, of Roanoke, Va.; daughters, Alaysia Elizabeth Henry, of Atlanta, Ga., and Elizabeth-Eden Brown, of Roanoke, Va.; sisters, Shayla L. (Andrae) McCarter, of Nashville, Tenn., and Debora M. (Vardry) Watkins, of Charlotte, N.C.; brother, Samuel L. Henry Jr., of Oxon Hill, Md.; sister-in-law, Sherri F. Henry, of Springfield, Va.; aunt, Sylvia E. Palmer, of Newport News, Va.; great-aunt, Eva Armstead, of Roanoke, Va.; nephews, Damien and two beloved nephews, Julian and Jackson, of Springfield, Va.; and a host of loving and devoted cousins, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, January 8, 2010, at Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Cedric E. Malone officiating. Interment will follow in Williams Memorial Park. Condolences may be sent to www.Hamlar-Curtis.com.

You all are in our thoughts and prayers. I remember when Shawn, Demond and Shanta was in HeadStart together. When my sister and I attended Shayla wedding Shawn was very concerned on how we was doing. He said some encouraging words and embraced us. Pat when I started working at Tap I Thank God I had you to help me grow with my career. We will never forget how you was there for us when we lost my brother, mom, and Demond . When I was no longer working at Tap I will never forget how you came to the house with flowers and just sit with me with your concerned. Pat and Family I feel like I am part of the family as for years when Pat and I will always shared about our children and my nephews.
