Myrtle Dillon Obituary

Myrtle G. Dillon, of Roanoke, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 4, 2010, while at her home with her family by her side. She was born on January 23, 1935, in Newhall, W.Va. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Lottie Hogston. She was preceded in death by her sister, Eula Pennington; and a brother, Burl Hogston, of Princeton, W.Va. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Leonard "Cliff" Dillon Sr.; son, Leonard "Matt" Dillon Jr. and wife, Nancy; daughter, Wanda Murphy and husband, Sam; grandchildren, Ethan and Seth Dillon, and Missy Simmons; brother, Don Hogston and wife, Aggie; two greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and family on Thursday, January 7, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lotz Funeral Home on Franklin Road. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, January 8, 2010, in the chapel at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, Va., with her brother-in-law, the Reverend Eugene Pennington officiating. The family would like to thank all those who helped care for Mrs. Dillon. Special thanks to Dr. Christy Arthur, Dr. David Hartman, and the wonderful people of Good Samaritan Hospice. My sincere condolences and prayers to Clifford and family.May God comfort each and everyone that shared in the life of Myrtle.You may not remember me,I AM Anthony Dunford, ex-son-in-law, once married to Wanda,Myrtle's daughter.First Eula, now Myrtle,two sisters passing so close together .I know the heartache for the love ones. May each family member keep looking up to God for comfort, for truly this is where comfort will come from. Love& Prayers, Anthony
