David Vanderhoof Obituary

David Allen Vanderhoof, 48, of Ferrum, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 4, 2010 after an extended illness. David is survived by his wife, Lois (Altimus) Vanderhoof; parents, Kenneth and Dorothy Vanderhoof; sisters, Kim Beebe and husband, Brent, Mary Ledergerber and husband, Markus, Beth Clark and husband, Earl, Stacy Maas and husband, Duane; also, three nieces, nine nephews, two foster nephews, four greatnieces, and two greatnephews. David had worked at Mod-U-Kraf in Rocky Mount. He enjoyed playing the guitar and mandolin. A memorial service will be at Oakey's South Chapel on Brambleton Ave. at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2010. Pastor Jerry Blevins will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel & Crematory. 1-540-989-3131.

Lois, my condolences to you. David was such a kind person, I just wish we would have reconnected long before facebook/carepages. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of David, be comforted in the knowing that you did everything possible for him in his time of need. You have been such a strong person throughout his illness and hope that you can continue to be in the upcoming days.
