Reford Stanley Obituary

Reford Earl Stanley, 78, of Chester, entered into eternal rest Sunday, January 3, 2010. Mr. Stanley was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War and had retired after 38 years from International Harvester. He is survived by his daughters, Sandra S. Doll, Lisa S. Watson and husband, Tom; grandchildren, Daphne, Jackson, Mackenzie, and Isaac; a sister, Katherine Joyce; and his former wife, Mildred S. Stanley. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday January 5, 2010 at the Chesterfield Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 14301 Ashbrook Pkwy., where his funeral will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday with interment to follow at 12 noon, in Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to The Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, 1111 Stewart Ave., Bethpage NY 11714 www.lustgarten.org or Central Virginia Chapter of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation 3805 Cutshaw Ave., Ste 212, Richmond, VA 23230 or www.jdrf.org.
