Kathleen Pate Obituary

Kathleen Jackson Pate, 86, of Roanoke, Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 5, 2010. She was born on February 11, 1923, to the late Edwin Pate and Laura Fuller Jackson. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Edwin Pate; and godson, Shelvan Brown. Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Robert (Karen) Pate, of Roanoke; three daughters, Barbara Reynolds, of New Britain, Conn., Dona Pate, of Roanoke, and Danette L. Casey, of Greensboro, N.C.; goddaughters, Lula Mae Hampton, of Detroit, Mich., and Jean Brown Tucker, of Roanoke; a host of grands, great-grands and great-greatgrandchildren; special devoted friends, Mattline Grogan and sister, Frances, Alice Bruce, Geraldine Harper and family and Winston Miller, all of Roanoke; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2010, in the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel with the Dr. Elder Nathan Harper officiating. The interment will be in Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Friends may call on Sunday afternoon, January 10, 2010, for viewing at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.
