J. Brewer Obituary

J. Richard Brewer, 75, of Sugar Grove, Va., the Camp Community, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at Francis Marion Manor, Marion, Va. He was born on April 23, 1934, to the late Ted R. and Emma Jones Brewer and was also preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Howard and Helen Brown; and also a special cousin, Charles Brewer. He was owner of Brewer's Store in Camp and was a school bus driver for Sugar Grove School for over 46 years. He was a member of Carmi Baptist Church in Camp where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and Deacon for many years. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Doris Brown Brewer. He is also survived by many loving friends and cousins. A special "Thank You" to Bonita and Gary Jones, of Camp, Va. The body is at ReinsSturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, Va. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, January 8, 2010, in Seaver-Brown Funeral Home Chapel, Marion, Va., with interment in Blue Springs Cemetery, Camp, Va. The Rev. John Pruett and the Rev. Kenny Price will officiate. Visitation will be held at Seaver-Brown Funeral Home on Thursday, January 7, 2010, from 6 until 8 p.m. Flowers appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to Gideon's International. Arrangements by ReinsSturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, Va., and Seaver-Brown Funeral Home, Marion, Va.
