Hello Mrs.North,
I called & spoke with you & Ira recently and Ira & I exchanged stories.
My husband Rick & I worked with Ira in Covington, Va and he also visited with us when we moved to Roanoke, Va. It was a wonderful time working with Ira. He was always so full of life.
He sounded so ready to "do what he had to do" with God and eveyone last I talked with him. We shared similar experiences. He went to the same college as I and we had similar experiences through the years.
Maybe you find comfort in his finally finding peace and comfort.
God Bless his family and bring them comfort.

Dear Mary,
I am saddened by the news of Ira's passing. I only knew Ira for a short time while you were in Suamico, however he made an impression on both my wife Talia and me. Ira was always forthcoming with any assistance and friendship. We will never forget all he did for us. Your family is in our thoughts.

As many have stated here, I was very sad to hear of the passing of Ira North.
We met over 25 years ago and to me Ira was a friend, a teacher, and role model. His care and consideration of others, his drive and determination to always learn more and the use of that knowledge to improve himself is what I learned from Ira.
He was a wonderful man. I have always considered myself blessed to have worked with and known Ira North.I think of him often.
May God be with his entire family and may he rest in peace in Heaven for eternity.

I was saddened, yet joyful, to hear of the passing of my friend, Ira. Mary, I know you and his mother, and children will miss him greatly, as will all of his friends. I loved being hugged by Ira and talking with him. He is truly in the arms of Jesus now and we can all take comfort in knowing his pain is gone and his gain is seeing Jesus' face. What a great reunion day we will have when we see Jesus face to face, and will be able to see Ira once again.

I first met Ira in 1967 in Lynchburg; we played rugby together, and became close friends. I have only seen him once or twice since the early 70s. The last time I saw him was 2 yrs ago at Ray Cash's funeral. Ira was the same jolly , boisterous and cheerful giant teddy bear I had always known. I note that family members called him Tuffy; our nickname for him was GAZENGA. His life was a positive influence on everyone he met, and this world is a better place because of Ira's time here. He will be missed by all who knew him. My condolences to the family. Bill Grogan

To Mason, Mrs. North, Tig and David,
Ira and I became close friends while we both worked with Chesterton distributors. The more I got to know Ira the closer we became. I enjoyed times of prayer with him as well as times discussing business and family. I will miss him tremendously. All is well with Ira now. May God bless and keep you all during this difficult time.

Mrs. North, Granny, Tig, and David,
Tim and I are deeply saddened by the loss of Mr. North, or "Big I" as we lovingly called him. He was a dynamic man. The kind of guy that just gave you great comfort to be around. He was very kind to both of us as we grew up with Tig and David.
He leaves quite a legacy behind. A phenomenal witness, loving husband, doting father, loyal son, and a great friend. His two boys are two of the finest men we call friends.

To the Family of Ira: Ira was a good help and friend to the people in Covington VA that had the pleasure of knowing him. His happy and jolly personality was a lift to each of us on days we saw him. He was one of the class of people that are few and never forgotten. May God bless all of you and us as we deal with the loss of very good person and friend.

Lelia, Mason, Tig and David. Your in my thoughts and prayers during this time. You've lost a son, husband, and father. Heaven has gained. I have such good memories from visits in Maine for a canoe trip, bird hunting and snowmobile trips to hosting a TRBC campus club with the local youth at the North's home. I enjoyed the visits Ira would make each year at the tree lot chatting over a hot cup of coffee. Ira was a generous man and a good friend.

I cannot begin to tell you how much I loved Ira. He was truly a father figure to me, and I am honored to have been known by him. He was one of the most knowledgeable men I have ever met and a conversation with him was an absolute joy. I will miss my friend on this old earth, but know that he is resting in the arms of his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ and absent from the pain he left behind brings me joy unspeakable.
I will continue to pray for the loss in your home and hearts.
