Doris Elizabeth Webb Kibler, 80, of Wallburg, N.C., Loving Mother and Memaw, went to Heaven on Friday, January 1, 2010, after suffering another stroke and will be so missed by her family and friends. Doris was born on August 10, 1929, to Bernie and Ruth Webb. She was a longtime resident of Roanoke, Va.; spreading happiness and joy to all who knew her. Throughout her life she enjoyed many hobbies including painting, sewing, ceramics, crocheting, bowling and bird watching. For most of her early adulthood, she was a waitress at the Oasis Restaurant in Roanoke. In 1977, she moved to Bluefield, W.Va., to become the manager of the Hertz RentA-Car office. After retirement, she returned to Roanoke to enjoy being a Memaw-her most rewarding job. She moved to High Point, N.C., several years ago to be closer to her daughter and son-inlaw. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Calvin Webb, Sylvester "Bob" Webb and Edward "Inky" Webb. She is survived by her children, Carol and Marshall Settles, of Wallburg, N.C., and Calvin W. Martin, of Salem, Va.; her grandchildren, Brian and Kimberly Settles, Christie Settles, Ben and Jessica Settles, and Jamie and Brannon Brock; greatgrandchildren, Brecken Settles, Kaidyn Settles, Dalton Lucas, and Tripp Settles and Will Settles. She has a very special sister, Carol Webb, of Manassas, Va.; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is married to Bruce Kibler. Funeral services for Doris will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 10, 2010, at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roy Cantrell, the Rev. Leigh Bartoli and the Rev. Jack Rose officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home, "Wallburg Chapel," 10301 N. NC Hwy. 109, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27107 until placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
