Claribel Bouvier Obituary

Claribel R. Bouvier, 95, of Roanoke, formerly of northern Manhattan, New York City, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2010. Born May 2, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Violet Knawer and Michael O'Grady. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Julien J. Bouvier, and a son, John J. Bouvier. She became a registered nurse in 1934 and assisted doctors that first started antibiotics. Then she moved to a 40 acre farm in Maryland. She loved all plants, animals, and life itself. She has been a dedicated member of Unity of Roanoke Valley for the past 34 years, where a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dan Holloway officiating. She is survived by her son, James M. Bouvier and his wife, Patricia; and two granddaughters, Lori Bouvier and Michelle Crouch. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to have the church bell (which she gave to the church 20 years ago) refurbished and dedicated to Claribel R. Bouvier. God Bless. Online condolences may be made at www.lotzfuneralhome.com.

Claribel's passing feels like the end of an era. I will always remember her with love and gratitude for the support she gave me personally. As Volunteer Coor. I knew I could count on her for her help. And, again when I was the interim Coor., helping to provide my transporation to the church. I treasured her friendship for many years and will miss her. Peace & blessings,

Pat,
I had the pleasure of meeting you with my sister, Sharon, and my dad at LG Oncology. You spoke about your sweet mother-in-law often. My heart is heavy with sadness for your precious loss. You said she was always a fighter....strong willed. I know you and your husband will miss her deeply. God, family, friends, beautiful memories and time will help the heart to heal. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
God bless ... in friendship.

Claribel will be missed by so many. She will continue to be a shining example of Truth. We shared many a philosophical & spiritual discussion and she has made a permanent imprint in my heart. My sincere condolences to her dear son & family.

Claribel always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. She has been a staple at Unity Church for many years, and will surely be missed. She was an inspiration to me and I won't forget her.
Blessings to the family.
