Mary Firebaugh Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Ritter Firebaugh, 71, of Roanoke, Va., passed away Saturday, January 9, 2010. She was born October 4, 1938, the daughter of the late Ranold F. Ritter and Leta Sutphin Ritter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Douglas (Doug) Firebaugh; three sisters, Bonnie Jones, Ruby Simmons, Catherine Pickeral. She was an active member of Faith Fellowship of Wirtz; she loved to bowl and bowled for several years on leagues in the valley. Surviving are daughter, Donna Webb and her husband, Brian, of Roanoke; son, Michael Firebaugh and his wife, Brenda, of Vinton; two very special grandchildren, Morgan Webb and Colin Webb; two stepgrandchildren, Michelle and Ryan; six sisters, Marguerite Richardson, Lyda Farlow, Peggy Dalton, Sue Jones, Pat Hash, all of Pulaski, Wanda Davis, of Roanoke; three brothers, Ray Ritter, Roy Ritter, both of Pulaski, Hensel Ritter, of California; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lotz Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Gary Hoffman officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. in Thornspring United Methodist Church Cemetery in Pulaski, Va. The family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mount Pleasant Fire and Rescue Department Station #6 or to the Faith Fellowship of Wirtz Nicaragua Mission.
