Vivian Virginia Hudson Perdue

Vivian Virginia Hudson Perdue, 98, of Glade Hill, Va., passed away on Monday, January 11, 2010. She was a life long member of Redwood United Methodist Church, a devout Christian who loved serving her Lord, her church and her family. Mrs. Perdue was born on January 15, 1911, a daughter of the late John and Alice Simpson Hudson. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Reggie Hudson and Donald Hudson; sisters, Vera Maxey, Charlotte Young, and Mamie Dalton; her husband, Walter J. Perdue; sons, Darrell and Orval Perdue; granddaughter Pasty Gale Perdue; and grandson, William D. Perdue. Surviving are her sister, Frances Brooks; her sons, Chloris "Cisro" Perdue, Carroll Perdue, Wendell and Jo Anne Perdue, and Garry and Becky Perdue; daughters-in-law, Betty June Perdue and Allene Perdue; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 17 greatgreat-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. Memorials may be made to the Redwood United Methodist Church, 3001 Old Franklin Turnpike, Rocky Mount, Va. 24151. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2010, at Redwood United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bradley S. Dulaney officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount, and other times at the home of Wendell Perdue.
