Jeff's loved ones and family: I've been staring at the screen for several minutes now, trying to come up with something to say that will, not only sound right, but help you in this time. I don't know what else to say except I'm just so sorry.

The entire Richmond Hokie nation mourns the loss of Jeff--a spirited alumnus who was committed to exemplify his alma mater's motto "Ut Prosim" - That I may serve. He loved helping out in any way he could most of all at our annual wine festival. We love you Jean and Katherine. Our prayers are with you both and we are here for you!

Kitty & Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I will never forget Jeff and his unique way of making people around him laugh and smile. His "Thriller" rendition at Chris & Jessie's wedding always brings a smile to my face. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Tom, Karen, and other loved ones
While I knew Jeff only briefly, I can appreciate what he meant to you as first-time parents. I can't begin to fathom the loss of one's child. Please accept our deepest sympathies, and may God help you to understand losing Jeff at such a young age with so much promise, and may He give you strength and comfort during this most difficult time.

I'll always remember cutting up with Jeff and laughing like crazy when we weren't supposed to during VocalBlur (Richmond-based a cappella group) rehearsals. As the two oldest guys in the group and the only ones married at the time, we shared a unique bond. It was also fun riding with up together to the gig at Tech in the 300ZX with satellite radio.
Jeff had an incredible talent of literally being a one-man band and giving his all to entertain even just the smallest crowds up to hundreds of screaming fans. While we haven't kept up much lately, I'll miss the random gchats from "beatstriken" at odd hours of the day that would always make me laugh.
My deepest sympathies go out to Kitty and the rest of the family. You all will be in my prayers in the coming weeks and months. I regret that I cannot attend the memorial service tomorrow. I know that it will be a great time of remembrance.
Sincerely,
Liz Crocker

My thoughts and prayers are with all of Jeff's loved ones. I remember seeing him performing in the commons at Manchester, on the stage, and as I walking across campus in Blacksburg. Jeff brought joy to so many people's lives.

To Jeff's loved ones,
I am Chris Langgood's Mom. I am so sorry to hear of Jeff's passing. I have been praying for the family. I remember all the time he and Chris spent in my family room break dancing, eating, video gaming, eating, swimming, eating, fixing my computer, eating, playing with my dogs, eating.... I even began to believe I needed to start a college fund for my "second" son. My son Chris is in Australia but I know his heart and thoughts are with Kitty and the family during this time.
