Clair Wade Obituary

ClairA . Wade1957 ~ 2004  HEBER CITY - Son, brother, uncle and friend, Clair A. Wade, 46, left this life on Friday, June 11, 2004. He was born October 28, 1957 to Ed and Erma Atkinson Wade in Heber City, Utah. Although small in stature, Clair was big in heart. He will always be remembered for his quick wit, outgoing personality, his willingness to help others and his love of life. He was an avid horseman and was always at home when around horses. An accomplished equestrian, he won many trophies and buckles for his accomplishments while showing horses and roping in rodeos. He also enjoyed coaching rodeo queen contestants and will be greatly missed by many of the young women whom he influenced during his life. He was active in many aspects of rodeo life and was a strong supporter of his nieces and nephews in high school rodeo as well as a supporter of other amateur rodeo organizations. Clair was an accomplished roper and loved to throw a rope whenever he could. He especially loved the times spent at his brother's arena just having a good time. Clair was employed for most of his life by the State of Utah where he worked for the DFS, tax commission, and ITS. He had an incredible work ethic and was admired by his co-workers. His shit-eatin grin and sense of humor will be missed by his friends and family. He will especially be missed by his two close friends, Rick and Clark, and the light of his life, Misty. He is survived by three sisters and two brothers: Peggy (Vance) Farrer, Bonnie Wade, Pam (Ben) Blonquist, Rodney (Carol) Wade, Randy (Tami) Wade, along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother and father. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 16, 2004 – 1:00 p.m. in the Heber LDS 3rd / 7th Ward, 244 East 400 South, Heber City. Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 11:45 – 12:45 p.m. prior to the services at the LDS Church. Interment will be in the Heber City Cemetery. Clair W.

This cowboy's sole was layed to rest on a warm June afternoon. We all sood by his side, with a teary glazed eye. Memeroies, laughs and thoughts will always be in our hearts. For we know it's time for us to part. You will look down on us from the heavens above and serve us with your protection and love. You will be dearly missed by the ones you loved but, we also know we will see that big toothy grin some day agin.

Love Brody.

Clair,

I don’t know where to begin. I have so much to say.

Sorry it has taken me so long to give you a tribute but I wanted the time to be right. I know one thing, I can honestly say I have no regrets, some can’t!

Oh how I wish you were here right now, I know you know what I am talking about since you are watching over us. I know in the end I will get the last laugh, I just have to be patient.

I want to tell you that I am so thankful that you and mom stuck by each other no matter what happened between the two of you. You two, and only you two, had a special bond that could not be broken and I know even though you are not here with us, that bond between you and my mom is still there. I want you to know that I will take care of mom for you, I know you two always “had each others backs,” just know mom’s not alone and she never will be! I know you loved her a lot and loved her unconditionally and in return she did the same.

Christmas was hard especially without your “white elephant gifts” that we looked so forward to receiving but yet were so afraid to see what you had come up with!

Mom keeps your grave looking nice, there is always something on there. She is quite the “Martha Stewart!”

Bonnie is doing good, but she misses you. She is always telling mom, when mom does something funny, crazy, etc. “You’re just like Clairy, Pammy.” And it is so true!

I could write so much more, but I will keep the rest of my memories and thoughts dear to my heart. I am going to miss you more than you will ever know. Thank you for being the uncle I always dreamed of having.

Love Always,

Your Niece

Clair,

A day doesn't go by that something or someone reminds me of the times we had be it writing a new speech, laughing, crying, winning or losing. I can't go by a birdhouse without pausing for a moment, and my weekly ironing will never be the same without that phone call. Thanks for all the good times we shared on the road to rodeos, queen clinics, parades, horse shows, training lessons, spook alleys,or just to lunch.

You planted that seed to do your best in all you do in my family. And we will keep winning crowns, buckles, saddles, and trophies. TRY

Love always, Julie

Dear Wade Family, Your loss has deeply touched my heart. Clair was my supervisor at the Tax Commission, He hired me without any experience, took me to lunch my first day & always believed in me. His sense of humor could not be surpassed. I have never worked for anyone who made me laugh so much & really made work a fun environment. He was also an incredible host, to get invited to Clair's parties meant you were guaranteed a good time. I feel extremely fortunate to have known this remarkable man. Clair & I would always talk about how we knew we were supposed to meet & be friends. I will never forget you dear Clair, thank you for making me laugh until I cried our friendship the memories & hugs. God Speed.

Clair it is going to feel so strange not to see your great smile when I go to take my walks. As I walk through those familiar places your face will be present in my mind and heart. Now that the suffering is over for you and you rest in the loving arms of your heavenly father, the emptiness we all feel will begin to be filled with loving memories of fun times together. I loved our long talked. You are such a wise person and so full of love mixed with a sense of humor that could bring sunshine into the darkest places. You my dear will be missed, and loved and always remembered.

I worked with Clair in ITS. Clair was always a great worker and fun to be around. His humor was delightful. I always enjoyed spending just a few minutes to chat when I was going past his cubicle. He took care of my travel arrangements for several years. He was efficient and always made sure that you got to and from your destination without any glitches. I am truely sadden by his passing.

Clair,

By now you have the assurance of God's love of which we spoke. I am excited for you knowing that you have the confirmation of that truth of which you suspected. God is the lover of all his children. Now, as you receive that embrace of those loving and unconditional arms, I pray for those who love you and remain in your physical absence. Your spirit and memory live on Clair, and will be reflected upon during contemplating moments on those horse rides, walks in the parks, observances of sunsets and the laughter of children at play. Your example to so many who were afraid of that which is little understood, will pave the way for many who are yet coming into the society where loves expression is needed. Unconditional love and understanding are yours Clair. You are the recipient of God's eternal love and welcoming family. God bless the rest of us.

Dear Wade Family,

We were saddened as we read Clair's obituary.

Death seems to pick its own time and place to call one back home. He is now in great company with your mother and father.

We express our sincere sympathy and love to you. While we didn't know Clair that well, Rodney, Bonnie, and Peggy are such a great part of our life in Heber Valley as we grew up. Memories of going to your home as a young Center Creekite still brings found memories flooding through my mind.

May the Lord bless and keep you. May you be comforted in your time of sorrow.
