December 15, 2004

To Tami and Josh, and all the rest of the Eastmans - We are so sorry for your loss! I used to live near you in Holladay, and Tami and I traded babysitting when Zach and Josh were very young, and my Karen was a toddler. I emailed Karen about Zach and wanted to forward her remarks as well: "That's too bad. It says his favorite musician was bob marley. I remember running around listening to bob marley and jumping on pillows with them. At least he died doing something he

loved. i wish i'd gotten to know him more recently. If you go and see tami, tell her about my bob marley memories." I will be praying for you all, that you find the solace you need, and find comfort in your grief. Love, Donna, Karen and Amber Webster

Eastmans,

I patrolled with both Scott and Zach at PCMR. As someone who frequently skis in the backcountry, your loss strikes close to home. I have submitted a donation to the UAFC in Zach's name. My condolences to you and your family.

Eastman Family,

I have heard many good things about Zach. Although I have not met him in person, I have seen him in the video's my son has sent of them making their way through the hills and slopes. The sheer joy in the faces of those young men bring feelings of adventure and communion

with nature. Their passion for the slopes is so evident. My Son will have Zach with him each and every time he returns to the snow.

My heart breaks for you, yet I know you have been blessed with the 23 years you shared on this Earth.

Plus, the eternity yet to share.

May God Bless You

I've known Josh for many years and had the pleasure of knowing Zach for a few of those years. Although I did not know him as well as I would have liked, he was one the most genuinely funny people I have ever met. My heart goes out to you Josh, and to your brothers and your mom and dad. Please know you are in my prayers.

Tami and Scott,

I wanted to send my condolences. I loved Zach so much. He taught me so many things in the mission field. At times I felt like he was my trainer and I was the greenie. I learned to be more humble, and to listen more closely to the spirit. His love for hard work and determination helped me keep the drive. I know how much he loved you guys and his brothers. He never stopped talking about all of you guys. I will miss him so much. And your family will be in our prayers.

Zach was one of the most genuine and sincere people I have had the honor of knowing. He was fun to be around and to hang out with. He always made everyone he was with feel special. He was exceptionally smart, and intelligent. My favorite memories of him are the long walks, and talks we had about anything and everything. He has left footprints in my heart, and he will truly be missed.

I was so saddened to hear of your loss. I used to baby sit Zachary and although it has been a long time, I can remember what a sweet and loving boy he was. As a mother, and a spouse of someone who is an extreme snowmobiler, I would like to extend my condolences to Zach's family.
