Heather Krantz Obituary

Heather Lynn Krantz 1984 ~ 2008 Heather Lynn Krantz was born to Randy and Susan Krantz on May 25, 1984. She returned to our Heavenly Father on September 27, 2008 due to complications from Post Transplant Lymphoma. She attended Olympus Jr. High and Olympus High School and received her GED in 2001. Heather was an amazing young lady who survived many trials in her life from birth. She was the fifth child who received a heart transplant in 1992 at Primary Children's Medical Center. She overcame many adversities in relation to the transplant. She was the inspiration for her mother to create the Youth Transplant Kamp sponsored by the National Kidney Foundation for children with major organ transplants. Heather had a keen sense of humor and loved to collect things from beanie babies at a young age to old record albums in her adult life. She was always on top of the newest technical gadget on the market. Heather was wise beyond her years and those who served her learned from her hardships. They often said that Heather was their favorite person. She loved her family, especially her nephew and niece Josh and Addie. She loved going to lunch and running errands with Grandmother. She will be sorely missed.Heather is survived by her parents, her grandparents, Bob and Janet Krantz, and Mickey and Jerry Quigley; her sisters Rachael (Mark) Herrscher, and Amy Krantz; her nephew and niece Josh and Addie and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her Aunt Bonnie Quigley Villalobos. The family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses who were instrumental in her care. Particularly Drs. Kfoury, Renlund, Fisher and IMC Heart Failure Transplant Team; Dr. Richard Frame with Utah Cancer Center; Jan and Dr. Katie Carlson at Valley Mental Health Services; Dr. Clara Michael; Beth Barrett; the Intermountain Homecare Hospice and to so many family members and friends for their tender mercies. Special love and gratitude goes to Allen, Linda, Megan and Melissa Harris for without their gift of life, we would not have had the joy of Heather for the last 16 years. It takes a village. Funeral Services will be held on Wed., October 1, 2008 at 12 noon at the Holladay 8th Ward located at 5450 S. Holladay Blvd. Friends and family may call Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Murray Memorial Mortuary located at 5850 S. 900 E. and one hour prior to services at the ward. Interment will be in Holladay Memorial Park (4900 Memory Lane (1990 E.)). Funeral Directors: Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary.

Very sorry to read of Heathers passing. Today I found an article that I had saved about her heart transplant when she was 12. I am thankful she had more time with you after her transplant.
My daughter Liz was an organ donor when she was 16 in 1995. That´s why I had saved your story all these years. We have shared in the loss of our daughters but Im thankful for the life that organ donations provide. Prayers that you and your family are doing as well as can be. I am a retired nurse from Maryville, TN and mother of 4. God bless you all. - Pam Yarnell

I was very sad to hear that Heather had passed. It is stunning to learn that someone you knew as a child is no longer there, but strangely comforting to know that she lives on in the memory of all who knew her.

Dear Randy and Susan,
I need to express our Love for you, you are great parents. The service for Heather was a grand honor for her and her life. Racheal and AMY did such a great job speaking and expressing the love and testimony of Heather. They loved her so much and she loved them. Heather touched many lives and helped so many people. SHe will live on and her great example of love and courage. We all need to be a little braver and stronger. In a year when you decide to do her temple work we would be so honored to join you. We know she will be waiting. We love you. DOug and Kimberlee

Susan (and family), I helped care for your sweet Heather during the day on Sat. Sep. 20th. I was a student nurse that day, and spent time having the privilege to care for Heather, and rub shoulders with the wonderful friends and family members that were with her that day. Susan, I expressed something to you that day, but I would like to share it with you again. I saw Heather that day before you were there, and then I saw Heather that day after you were there. You truly brought peace and comfort to her soul at a time she needed it so much. I was so impressed with the things that you did for her and the manner in which you cared for her that day. I came home that night wanting to be a better mother to my sweet girls because of the great example I saw in the way that you cared for your precious daughter. It turns out that I actually have a mutual friend with your family through someone that knows your daughter, Amy. Through this friend's blog is how I found out about Heather's passing. I thought that not to be coincidental, as I have thought about Heather and your family often in the last week and a half. I pray for your family that the healing love of our Savior will help you obtain the peace that will make this incredible challenge bearable for each member of your family. It was a great privilege to meet you and Heather. Thank you for your example.
Sincerely, Angela Keddington

Randy, Sue, Corey and Family:

I doubt that you remember me, but I went to school with your sister Sue, from grade school at Cottonwood Elementary, through High School at Olympus. I grew up down the street from you on Wander Lane, and your family was one of the first that I/we met when we first moved there, when there was nothing there but a gravel road.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Corey and Sue have been so wonderful in helping and taking care of my mother Doris, and just keeping an eye out for her for me, since my sister and I live so far away.

I'm so very sorry about the loss of your daughter. I can't imagine the deep loss that you are feeling.

My prayers are with you at this time.

Fondly,

Michelle (Shelley) Hilpert Ebersole

Dear Krantz Family,
I did not get the chance to know Heather duringg her adult years. But I spent quite a bit of time at your house as one of Rachael's friends, and remember Heather coming up to me with her blonde hair and glasses, and showing me her transplant scar. She was very proud of it. Whenever I was at your house with Rachael, Heather was usually around, being the feisty, silly, little sister.

Thinking of you all at this time.
