Dimitri Babich Obituary

DIMITRI ALEXANDER BABICH March 27, 1991-January 9, 2008 Dima went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning. For seven years, he resided in Helotes, Texas and is survived by his mother Galina Babich and stepfather Roland Perez. Dima was born in Russia where he is survived by his grandfather Arkadi Egron, his aunt and uncle Olga and Oleg Nesterova, and his cousins Ksenia and Andrrei Nesterova. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Nina Egron. Dima enjoyed playing sports of any kind, and that carried over when he and his mother arrived in the United States. He played football at O'Connor High School, and would never turn down a pick up basketball or baseball game. He also enjoyed skateboarding, paintball, or doing anything with a camera rolling. During his seven years in the U.S. many came to know and love him, including his teammates and classmates at O'Connor. His friends will miss his quick wit and handsome smile. His aunts and uncles, Mike and Margaret Shannon, and Lonnie and Judy Perez held him close and cared for him as a son. His cousins and their families loved him as their little brother. Michael, Luke and John Shannon, Sarah O'Neal, and Janet Shannon, along with Jimmy, Joe and Stephen Perez, Theresa Aguilar, and Laura Huey will always remember his unquenchable thirst for fellowship and fun. We will all miss him greatly, and will never forget his enthusiastic knock on the door. Visitation will begin Sunday January 13, 2008 at Simplicity Funeral Home at 5:00 P.M. Funeral Service will be held at the Eagles Nest Christian Fellowship Church Monday January 14, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery at Cordi-Marian. Galina and family,
My family and I are very sorry about Dimitri. We are thankful for the opportunity of meeting and him being a part of our life. Dimitri was a friend of our son Adrian. We remember Dimitri spending the night at our house with our family. (Galina, I'm the mother that goes to school with you and woul see you at ROSS). My grandfather will look out for Dimitri in heaven until the 'two of you unite again'. I'd like to remember Dimitri as he will be 'skateboarding in heaven'.If there is anything I can do for you, please don't hesitate to call me 412-4490. Love always, The Rocha Family

Our daughter Brooke Spangler has many fond memories of Dima. She will always remember his witty personality and smile. Dima is remembered as a very special person in many of the lives of the students at O'Connor High School and will truly be missed. We pray for the family he has left behind, but with our faith in God, we know he has gone on to a better place and will be smiling down at all of us left here on earth. Our sincere condolences to his Mom and all his relatives. May God's Blessings be with you and your family always. Dima will live on through many of his friends that he loved and left behind and he will never be forgotten. Peace be with him always.
