William, I am deeply saddened that this had to happen to you. You will forever be remembered and honored as we will not forget the lives that were taken that day. My deepest condolences to your loved ones.

William Cashman,
You took the ultimate sacrifice, potentially fighting with your other man to get rid of those who where willing to kill you and your fellow american. You helped build the Twin towers. As an outsider looking in, your death is ironic in a sense. But you went out fighting, and there is no better honor than that. I hope your afterlife is only filled with good and luxury, you have earned it.

Crossing the Bar
Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,
But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.
Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;
For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crost the bar.

People always talk about where they were when J.F.K was killed, because it was one of the biggest tragic events of that time. I had always hoped that I would never experience that. I know where I was on Sept. 11, waiting to see if my Uncle Billy was coming home. You're the coolest great Uncle anyone could have had. We all know you were up there fighting for America. We miss you.

My company commemorated September 11, 2001 just minutes ago today, September 11, 2002. As part of this tribute, we each had the opportunity to wear a wristband bearing the name of an individual lost in those tragic events of a year ago today.
I had the privilege and honor of wearing the name William Joseph Cashman.
As I look at his name, I begin to think of the family, friends, and loved ones he has left behind. To those individuals, I mourn your loss. I pray that God give you peace and shed His grace and blessings upon each of you.
In Christ…

It's been four months, but we still can't believe you won't be coming home. Time is supposed to heal and maybe it will, but time will never erase the lonliness in our family since that tragic day took you away. May you rest in God's arms forever.

We are deeply sorry for our nation's loss of William. May his life and love live on in you. May the warm memories of times together lighten the sorrow in your hearts. I believe God cried when He saw the evil that took the lives of His innocent children before their time. In the shadows of the darkness they cried out His name. They found shelter and protection from human pain as He lovingly pulled them into His embrace. Cradled in His arms earthly cries became heavenly songs as angels were born. Our hearts cry deeply with you in America's loss of a hero.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
