Remembering Virginia on the 20th anniversary of 9/11...
June 12, 2019
To Virginia,
Many years have gone by since you died on a day thats ingrained in my memory. It's pretty sad to think about how you passed away on 9/11. Rest peacefully with the angels..

Remember
Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

As I cross-stitched your name on the memorial that I am doing for all of the victims, I prayed for you and your family. Please know that your death was not in vain. We will always remember. God Bless.

Betty-Boop, although we only worked together at Marsh for a few years, that was more than enough time to know that you were a person of dignity, patience, kindness and warmth. I miss terribly hearing that laugh of yours. It would always make me laugh. I know you are with Jesus now and that gives me comfort. To you and all of my other Marsh friends, you are sorely missed. God Bless your soul.

Betty, it's been a year now since you were taken from us, but I know that you are resting in heaven with our Lord and Savior. I miss the fun we use to have in the kitchen at Church, and especially the Special days like Anniversary times and Easter. May God bless your soul and continue to strengthen Allison, Patrick, and your grandchildren. You will forever remain in my heart as a dear and caring FRIEND.
Love you,
Lizzie (Ms.P)

What fond memories I have of Betty. She whipped me into shape when I was a young kid fresh out of college at J&H in 1985. Betty was quick to point out when I made spelling errors, made a mess of the copy machine, and when my ties didn't match my shirt. We had so many laughs back then. She was one of the kindest and sincerest person I ever had the pleasure to work with. The world lost a beautiful soul.

Farewell, My Dear Classmate. Though I have not seen you for years, I'll remember you as you walked the halls at Burley H.S., smiling, hair bouncing. Such a tragedy for all of us. We'll not forget you. God's continual love and blessings to your family. PEACE!

Dear Virginia:
I did not know that you were living in NY until this terrible tragedy took you away from us. We went to high school together in Charlottesville, Virginia and we had some wonderful memories. All of us will miss you and your warm smile. May God Bless You and Keep You In His Care.

To my dearest "Aunt Betty",
I can remember you getting me out of trouble when I was a little girl at church. Always looking out for me. As I got older, we did not keep in contact as much, but the love was still there. I know you are still looking after me from heaven now, so I don't grieve as much. I think about you often. I love and miss you.

I did not know Virginia, but I picked her name to make a quilt square that is to go into a memory quilt that will tour the country, and then have a permanent home at the memorial site that is to be built in New York. I wanted any of her relatives to know who might be interested in knowing. I am so sorry that when I make the square that I didn't have any more info. on her so that I could put it on the quilt so that people seeing the quilt would be able to know a little about her.
My condolences to her family, and my prayers, and thoughts are with all who died in the 9/11 attack.

To Cousin Betty,
You are sorely missed, but that flame of life, that essence of you,is now a shining star in the heavens.Shine down on your children, and grandchildren, so they may continue to be courageous and strong. I pray God's mercy in all ways. Your absence is like a broken circle, your face missing among church and family gatherings.
In Loving Memory,
Tootsie

Although Betty & I both worked for J&H for many years, it wasn't until much later that she joined the Finance Dept. She was someone with a great disposition and always had a smile. I feel for her loved ones.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
