Robert was a year younger than I when we were students at Dakota High School. We were in choir together and I can't remember a day that he didn't have a smile on his face. He was a wonderful person to all.

Just wanted to send all of my thoughts and prayers to the Rasmussen familiy. Bob will always be remembered as a great friend. Bob and I were study group partners at NYU, and we had a consulting partnership where we consulted for a sock company of all things. We always had a great time -whether analyzing data, studying or sitting thru class. He is missed.

It has been five years, now, Robert

On this disaster anniversary day.

That your families' pain would soften, is what I now must pray.

For no one of us could forget you, the roles you chose to play,

From the Music Man in High School,

To son, parent, spouse and brother, coworker and friend to all each day.

May God's comfort bless and surround all your loved ones; my heart is with them today.

Thanks for representing our home town back in North Dakota in a way that can make all of us proud to have known you, for I suspect that while you were a darn good kid, you grew up to be a truly great man.

I didn't personally know Robert. I know a friend of his and how deeply it effected her life. Robert was thought of as a great guy. I Pray for his family. For his wife and for his kids. May God himself bless them and give them comfort knowing HE IS A HERO. Robert along with the others that past on that day took one for us all and for that I thank not only him but his family as well. I too have a wife and 3 children. My heart aches for you all and every family out there that lost someone dear to them that day and in any war since and before. GOD BLESS AMERICA. Let us not let this happen in such a way ever again.

May God be with you as you grow and remember to always be proud of Robert. For he has become and always will be forever a HERO to every American citizen.

We all must be strong now and go on, as I know this is what he would want us all to do.I know he is looking down on all of us and smiling. I will never forget his beautiful smile.

Robert was and still is the cousin among three families who think of him as their own brother. I always looked up to him since grade school. He always had the best hiding spots during "Hide and Seek". His greatest gift he gave to us all was his sincere attention. He always had time for everyone. Robert was the guy everyone wanted to see and hear from. He was a good guy, the best.

It is heartbreaking to read these messages, yet touching to know how much Robert was loved and respected. For all of us who were part of Robert's life, we know the great loss of not having him here with us now. However, his influence and kindness and love will always, always remain with me.

We are very sorry for your loss of Robert. May his love and life continue through his family. Our hearts cry with you.

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

I did not know Bob, but knew of the happiness he brought to so many. I know Anna and the gleam that I see in her eye when she speaks of him. Anna, his children and family are in my prayers. There is not a day that goes by that I do not think of the pain that you must be going through. I am so sorry for your loss.

What a loss. A good decent person. Growing up in a small town in eastern N.D, ribbing each other on who was going to be the "catcher" in little league and legion ball. Handing off the ball to him in High School and once again, team-mate of his in Softball are some of the fond memories. His family has suffered a great loss.
