Hello,
We wanted to let your family and friends know that we are sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of James M. Hale US Army Corporal.
We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.
We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.
Sincerely,

Hale was an awesome guy in basic training. I was shocked to see his picture in the Army Times paper in 2008. Every memorial day I look at the pictures of friends lost in Iraq and Afghanistan, their faces are so young. I wish he were able to spend memorial day weekend with his family.

While it has been almost seven years, I have thought of James often. As Memorial Day approaches, he is on my mind as one of our American heroes. I had the pleasure of serving as his and Jessica's teacher at Franklin Heights and of making Jessica's gown and then attending their wedding. He was impressive then, and he is impressive now. Peace to all of his family. You have much to remember with pride.

I saw a young man the other day. He had many features that resembeled you. We made eye contact and I only saw you my friend. I think of you often, like when you and Carson would come mooch some sunflower seeds from me during long hot days of training in the desert of El Paso. Makes me smile all the time! Take care buddy!

James, it's coming up on a year that you were taken from earth to be in God's Army. I know how hard it is on family and friends when the first year comes. It's reality in knowing that you won't walk into that door to greet those who love you. You will always live in the hearts of your family and friends and I know this as I too am a Gold Star Mom. May God continue to comfort and bring peace to your family.

The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Dear family of Cpl. James M. Hale,
We want to say thank you. We understand that no words can be adequate for your sorrow. We certainly do not want to intrude upon your privacy. As Americans we want you to know that we deeply appreciate the ultimate sacrifice your loved one has made for all of us. We also would like for you to be aware that with this letter comes our special concern and prayers for you. We are all safer because young men and women who love their country, and know the value of a free nation, are willing to put themselves in harms way, and lay down their lives to keep this nation free and safe for all of us.
Your sacrifice is also very great. We know that we can give little comfort; however, the knowledge that your loved one did not die in vain, but died in the service of our country, gives each of us a noble example of the value of life, and the responsibility of freedom. We hope this will bring pride and comfort to you.
We at Gethsemane Church believe that there is purpose to life. We send this letter with our deepest appreciation for the greatest of sacrifices, you and your loved one have given to this country. We know it is not enough, but please allow us to assure you that your loved one is not forgotten.
Very Sincerely

Prayer for Peace
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen

Dear cousin,
It is me Crystal. I am going to forever miss you. It seem like yesterday you told the family you had plans on going to the army, your cousin's thought you was crasy. However you proved us wrong, you prove to us that you was strong, a hero, passionate, and much more . The last time I talked to you, we was suppose to meet in Texas, because you planned on moving out there and so did I. However God had a plan for us to meet back up in another place. Untill then you will always be in my heart forever. May you rest in peace.

To the family and parents of James I want you to know that you are not alone in the grief you are feeling. I too know what you are going through and what you will go through in the coming weeks and months ahead. You will have many questions as to why? You will have many things to get ready or go through and that should be done in time. Sometimes it just can’t be faced and that’s ok, for you will know when the time is right for you. There is no right or wrong way to grieve it’s an individual journey that unfortunately we now have to take. I ask that God give the comfort, strength and courage that you are going to need. When and if the time is right for you please contact me. You can cry, vent, or just talk as only another person who has been where you are can really know what you are going through. Love to a Fallen family,
I am so sorry to hear about another fallen Hero! I know there are no words that I can say to ease your pain! The loss of a child, husband or brother at such a young age is something that is the most difficult thing to bare! I wish there were something I could say that would ease your pain! We can only pray that one day we will be together again. I was told that if you stretch a piece of string a mile long and line that string with beads, the beads would resemble eternity. Life here on earth is equal to “only one bead”. We have only a short time here compared to the time we will spend in eternity with our loved ones. The only thing I can say is let faith keep you grounded in your life and hold on to your loved ones! This will help you through! It is what helps me get through my days. My son, Anthony entered into the Heavens to be with our Lord in 2007. We can never understand the reasons why our loved ones would ever be taken from us. I pray that one day our pain will ease!
God Bless Your Family!

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Cpl. James M. Hale our Brother in Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for James. And to James it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made in combat while serving the U.S. Army and his country. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. James, you are a brave Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.

I just got home from Iraq in June. I too, lost several friends in Iraq. They were my 'family'. Just remember James died doing what he loved and will always be a hero because he fought for those who could not fight for themselves...The real heroes are the ones who don't come back.

Hale in the 978th and is still over there continuing what Cpl Hale and so many more have done. Cpl. Hale and all of those serving are my heroes. My prayers are with all of Cpl. Hale's family and friends. Especially his wife and children. I may have seen you when we were in Bliss during deployment. My heart is heavy but I know God is in control and may he give all of you an extra measure of strength right now. God Bless & Keep you!

I am Deeply Saddened to learn of the loss of Cpl. James M. Hale. The Price this Brave Young Soldier and his family have paid for this country and for freedom, Will Never Be Forgotten.
May James rest safely now, in the Loving Hands of God and may the Healing Grace and Comfort of the Lord be with the Hale family.
There will Never Be Enough Ways to Humbly Thank these Young Heroes for their Sacrifices, my brother among them. Killed in action in Vietnam in 1967.
"Cast thy burden upon the Lord,
And He shall sustain thee."
~ Psalm 55:22 ~
Sincerely hoping that you can feel the thoughts of caring and support that surround you today and in the difficult days ahead, as this Grateful Country mourns with you, for Someone Very Precious to you, Who Is A True American Hero to all of us.
You are in my thoughts and prayers
