Jared J. Kremm Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 30, 2005.
As the bus taking him back to base pulled away, Jared J. Kremm stuck his fingers through the window, making fun of how his sister had jammed her finger in a car door when she was a kid. She said she can still see him smiling behind the window. "I just want to hear him laughing again," said his sister, Jacquelynn. "I want to hear him laughing so bad." Kremm, 24, of Hauppauge, N.Y., was killed Oct. 27 by an explosion in Saqlawiyah. He was assigned to Camp Lejeune. He took classes at Suffolk County Community College in Selden and joined the Marines in 2001. From Iraq, Kremm sent Jacquelynn letters about watching his laundry dry on a string, missing Burger King and wishing he could play X-Box with his brother-in-law. He even sent handwritten "certificates" to his niece and nephew promising to spend time together if they behaved while he was away. He also is survived by his wife, Brook. Cpl. Jose Soto said his comrade had been a sparkplug, energizing the troops whenever there was a lull. "If a job needed to be done," Soto said, "he would motivate the whole platoon to get it done."

I saw this young Man’s bio on the Calverton National cemetery website honoring this fine Marine. My Father is buried at Calverton along with other relatives and a friend. I stopped by a local florist near Calverton and put a Marine flag on his grave on 10/28/24 and said a prayer and a Thank you to Jared for his service and keeping America safe. RIP Lance Cpl Kremlin.

I miss you. I am blessed that you are my son. I miss your smile. The big Young smile that can light up any room. I miss your beautiful eyes that were always sincere and deep. I kiss the head of your picture every morning and every night and I tell you pleasant dreams like I always said every night. We were a small tight family - just you Jackie and me. With all we had to endure we always had each other and always will. I am a proud mother because God gave me you and your sister Jacquelynn and that's where I got the strength to go through all the negative we were put through. We were invinsable and always found a way to laugh. I cant wait to be with you. Until then I will remain kissing your picture and you will remain forever YOUNG. GOD BLESS YOU your mom Nancy Young - forever Young

A good man. I remember hanging out with you at Larry's house and by gardner manor, too many stories to tell Kremm de la kremm. Thank you for your service and the memories.

I think about you everyday Jared. I think about the lively spirit you had, the laughter you brought to everyone's lives and I think of how at such a young age you made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. It's been almost 10 years since you've been gone and i hope wherever you are you know we all love you so much. In the short time you were here you left such a profound impact. I love you and I'm grateful for what you did, I'm proud to be an American and proud to have known a hero like you.

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Kremm Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Jared, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

I can't remember the last time that I actually saw Jared, but I will always remember him as being just one of the boys on Carll Drive, always up to something and always getting into some sort of trouble. We all grew up together and shared more great memories than most kids are lucky enough to have. Our block was the envy of all of Bay Shore because we were so close and always had so much fun. From manhunt, to running from pool to pool, to playing on my swings or go-kart races down the street, Jared was always there smiling.

He is and will always be missed...

To the Kremm family
I am a former Marine(1988-94). I happened to be serving in Baghdad with the US Army, the same time that he was there for 2/6's second tour (Sep04-Mar05)in Iraq. As my convoy used to come in to the first Marine manned checkpoint of the US embassy, I would very often see two Marines,LCpl Kremm and LCpl Eckfield, manning the entry point.Though few words passed between us, as our engines were very loud, I would always feel a deep sense of pride that the entry into the United States Embassy, Baghdad, Iraq was manned by such formidable Marines.May God bless the Kremm family and all of his loved ones. I don't pretend to know what to say or do that would bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

Jared,

We haven't met face-to face but I've spoken to you on your mom's cell when you called her at work. As now know, I'm a very close friend and co-worker of your mom. I feel like I've known you and Jackie for years. Your mom and I would talk about you, Jackie and my niece, who is also a Marine. I just want you to know that the other co-workers & I are doing our best to comfort your mom. I try to be there for her when she needs me. I told Jackie that I would be there for your mom, too. We (your mom & I) laugh about the things you've done from the time you were a little boy to the present. She's made it perfectly clear as to why you have sooo many people who loved to hang out with you and love you for just being ..YOU. You were the life of the party! Your mom have me cracking up! We also cry for you because your mom has lost her "beautiful son" as she calls you. She's misses you soooo much. If only you can send a message or show her a sign to let her know that you are around and/or at peace, then maybe she could be at peace with your unfortunate and way too soon death. Soon she'll have the strength to read your guest book and leave you a lovely lettter. R.I.P.

My family and I are praying for you and your family during this difficult time. We send our deepest empathy as we lost our Marine on 11/30/05 in Fallujah. We are comforted to know that our Marines are serving their country with such honor and bravery. We are so proud of our Marines and all of our other service men and women for all that they have done and continue to do to keep us safe and to give us the freedom we have that so many take for granted.

They are true Heroes and need to always be remembered for their selflessness and sacrifice to better our world. We will forever be united in the loss of our heros. We are so sorry for your loss and hope our words will ease some of the pain, and maybe fill some of your emptiness.

Jared,

I know it has been quite some time since I had seen you or spoke to you last. However, I can still remember like it was yesterday all the football games, pre-game parties and post, random parking lot hang out nites, Umberto's, and a classic nite at Spatz! You were always such a kind-hearted, fun loving guy who could make anyone at anytime laugh with the things you were up to or that devious krem smile of yours. It's not everyday that you can say that in your lifetime you had the pleasure of knowing a hero. I feel honored to have known you. Thank you for helping to make a difference in our world, you have led by example and shown us all what it is to be a true hero, and a friend, and will forever be remembered by all who have met you! My deepest sympathy goes out to all of Jared's family members and friends. May you rest in peace Lance Cpl. Jared Kremm...

My Brother,

You have touched my life in so many ways that I can not explain. I will never forget the first time I met you and you tried to get me to play a video game. And now how I couldn't wait till you were home to play again. You made my life richer. To say that you are loved would be an understatement to say that you will be missed would be even greater. There is a hole in my life now that you are gone and I feel emptier without you. I will never forget all the time we spent together and all the talks we had. I have a hard time to really express what I am feeling. You are my brother, and one of the best friends I ever had. If I could ever be half the man you are, that in itself would be an accomplishment. I love you my brother and you will never be forgotten.

To everyone who has written, I want to thank you all so much. The lose is so great and hurts so bad, but I do take some comfort that he has touched so many and that a little piece of him is in all of us, and through us by his example he will live on. May we all never forget what he was to us and strive to be what he exemplified.

I miss you brother, but I know you will watch over us now. I hope you can stop in every now and then to say hi.

To the family of Jared Kremm,

We did not know Jared, but heard of his sacrifice through a friend of his, that we met on September 11th 2001, when we lost a family member in the World Trade Center.

Jared was a courageous and honorable person who saw a wrong and did all he could to make it right. We hope and pray that all these sacrifices will someday end, and that terrorism will be defeated once and for all time. We will always remember Jared and his family in our prayers. The world will be a better place for Jared having been in it.

I hear you crying but I cannot see you -

I want to help you, but I cannot reach you -

I feel your emotions on my face

And all your tears, I do taste -

If only I could reach you and tell you not to cry;

To assure you this is not the way to die,

But im feeling faint and my body filled with sorrow

that there will never be another tomorrow

my breath is weakening and I think its my time

tell my family I love them, and this is not a crime-

That our unity is forever with me

And I left them in bravery

I met Jared many years ago (it had to be in the early 90's) when he played baseball with my nephews in Bayshore (he was the catcher, and a damn good one!). He was a young kid, but I knew there was something special about him even then. I found myself thinking about him shortly before I heard of his death in Iraq. I'm not sure why he popped into my mind, but there he was with that smile. Like I said, I didn't have the priveledge of knowing him as an adult, but he was a special kid and I just wanted to offer my heartfelt condolences to his family and all of his friends. It is obvious from the entries in this guest book that he touched many hearts and many people called him a friend. God bless you while you mourn his loss and always. My prayers are offered for you and for all those still fighting for our freedom in Iraq and other countries abroad.

Jared,

You have brought honor and pride to your family and to our Corps. You have demenstrated what it means to keep within the highest standards of a United States Marine! I am eternally grateful for your dedicated service to the United States. Your ultimate sacrifice helps to ensure the continuation of freedom, and peace for all Nations. Thank You!

I stood guard, and took part in some of the Honors rendered to Jared at his wake. Not only was it the least I could do for my fallen brother, I will always consider being there a great honor.

I pray for his many family members and friends to have the strength to push forward through this tough time.

Jared,

You are my hero, I would do anything just to see you turn the corner of seusing and watch you walk to my house again. You leaving us has been hard but the only thing that brings me comfort is thinking about the great times we had. Your memory will stay in the hearts and minds of everyone who has met you. The memories are endless, my backyard parties, football, taking you for your road test, late nite Umbertos, the list just goes on. I know your at peace and someday your friends and family will see that classic kremm smile again. I miss you buddy, god bless.

Jared,

Everything right now is so surreal, and I still can't believe that this has happened. I can only thank God that I had the chance to know you and become friends with you.

This past week I've thought about so many memories and smiled back on them. You were such a special person, and I'm so glad you were in my life. Seeing you last year was so random and it made me so happy. You introduced me to your wife, and told me you had joined the Marines. You looked so happy, and I told everyone I knew that I had seen you. There was a period where I couldn't order a pizza just to see you anymore, and I had always wondered what became of you. I remember being so happy for you.

I remember one time specifically that you came into my photography class and I had someone take a picture of us. I remember secretly developing it because I didn't want to get in trouble for having a "personal" picture...I tore my room apart last Sunday to find that picture. I finally found it and was granted peace of mind. I still remember taking that picture with you and I will continue to remember it along with all the other memories I have of you. You were a beautiful person inside and out, and you will forever be in my heart, Jared Kremm.

Rest in Peace.

You are truly a hero of the highest caliber. I will never forget our long talks and the great times we had. You always told me that one day you'd be a Marine, and sure enough you followed your dreams. Everyone is so proud of you and will miss you greatly. I am honored to have known you.

May you be in peace.

Jared,

So many memories. Playing cops and robbers-you always being the cop of course, manhunt, swimming in your pool with Madman (the dog) chasing us around, and just hanging out. You will always have a place in my heart. You will be missed and never forgotten.

Jared- My Kremm Doggy I can't put into words what I am feeling right now, my heart aches as I write this. You are and always will be the kind of person that I can say I am honored to be so close to-you are so caring, funny, and loyal and I am so proud to say that you are one of my best friends. I have the GREATEST memories of you from the fab5 to mama sbarros (you slavedriver) to hanging out everywhere, your remixes, star99.9, lacrosse games (winkwink) and all the crazy things you were always down for. We have managed to remain close after so much time and what that tells me is that our friendship is real. I remember when you were leaving for boot camp and i was away at school, you called so many times and I was hysterical for days you helped me to stay strong and I wish you were here to help me be strong through all of this. Jared I cant imagine not having you apart of my life but I know you will always be watching over me and everyone else you loved so much just like you did when you were here. You are both my hero and an angel. I will never stop missing you and you will ALWAYS be on my mind. I love you so much and miss you even more. May you rest in peace for eternity.

~With Love~

Kremm,

I dont even know what to say. This came out of nowhere. It seemed like you were just here and then you left again and I didnt even get to hang out with you one last time. I am happy that I at least have the great memories to look back on.

You always looked out for me like an older brother and I have always considered you a good friend. I'll never forget my freshman year. The morning carpool, Umbertos. Like I said, I'll always have that to look back on. And likewise with everyone else.

You will never be forgotten because you touched so many hearts and lives. We'll miss you.

Jared,

I dont know even where to begin man....only to start that you are a hero in my eyes brother!!!Kremm da la Kremm, aka the Kremm Doggy. Its been a little while since our days of playing football and lacrosse, but every day for the rest of my life i will have those memories locked in my heart. And what keeps replaying over and over in my head is you coming out of nowhere on that cold rainy day at Deer Park...The words you said will last a lifetime..."Love it or leave it, Leave it or Love it". God Bless you Jared Kremm cause you did what most of cannot. You faced fear face to face and fought on...

The other lasting memories I will have are you and me making pizzas and chicken for the boys at you know where...lol!!!You were always down for anything. We shared some of Lifes greatest memories together(Me,You, Paulie, Nick, Joe, Brian, Krista, Lauren, Billy, Ryan, Matty, Snebz...the list goes on) You were loved by many...

I Thank you and all the troops that have fallen for our Freedom. And to your family my deepest sympathy. I will miss you fovever Kremm Doggy but you live on through you friends and family.

Last but not least...Reserve a field up there kid...when we get there we are having a rematch with sayille and on the one condition that you rock the Club...love you and miss yea

Jared, I can't begin to explain the emptiness that I feel in my heart. We have become so close over the years, and we have so many memories that I will always hold on to. You kept all of us close together. From making us pizza in the middle of the night and never letting us go to bed early, you always made any night interesting. You are the strongest, and most loyal person that I have ever met. I can't think of one time that you put yourself before the rest of us. You were always there for us whenever we needed you, and I thank you for everything. I am so thankful we got to spend time together on your last trip home. Jared you will always be on my mind and I will never forget you. I love you.

Love, Vanessa
