Hey there Brother. Haven't been on here for a while. But I'm back. I'm been dealing with some things. I'm getting help and I'm back to being a version of myself. Even though I've been m.i.a, you are still an inspiration to me. How I wish you were here listening to Chalino and talking about all of our acomplishments. On this Memorial Day I hope your family is doing well and you are watching over all of us. God bless and Semper Fi.
Miss you bro,

It's Memorial Day again brother. Just wanted to stop by and say thank you. Yesterday I graduated college and I really wish you were here so you could have sang some corridos with me like old times at the party. You are a big reason why I made sure I excelled in college. I used the G.I knowing that many like you never got the chance. I dedicate my achievement this weekend to you! Semper Fi Brother. Miss you and God bless your Family.

Dearest Hugo,
You remain Forevermore Our Heavenly Hero!
How quickly 3 years has passed since your brave soul went to its new home in Paradise. I can hardly believe it's been that long since the first time we wrote something in your Guest Book.
May your Family's hearts be comforted by knowing there are so many of us all throughout the country who still remember, love and honor your Memory!
God Bless You Hugo.
"Thank You" seems hardly enough to express our deepest appreciation for your great sacrifice!

LANCE CPL. R. LOPEZ - SO YOUNG AN BRAVE ,PROOF THAT AMERICA IS STRONG WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU ,HONOR AND STRENGH THANK YOU FOR MY FREEDOM
July 27, 2007
If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Le Ron A. Wilson (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.

What Jesus looks like and what you look like in the fullness of your new glorified body. I miss you buddy and can't help but be terribly saddened as we have lost a hero. enjuagando nuestras lagrimas...
pero sobretodo tu y yo
¡¡¡¡¡¡ viviendo!!!!!!

I met Hugo in kindergarten. I lost contact with him for a few years after that, but met him again in high school. To me, he never changed. He has always been a strong person. I never saw him without a smile. Everyone that knew him always spoke highly of him, and were proud to say that he was their friend. I was proud to call him my friend and it was an honor to have known him. My thoughts and prayers go out to Hugo, his family and his friends.

Dear family,
Hugo, has shown great honor, courage and commitment as a U.S. Marine. He has come to my home a few times to pick up my son, so they can get to football practice, while still in High School. Then they became fellow Marines, brothers for life. I will remember his big smile, and how very polite he was.
Hugo, has touched the hearts of many people near to him as well as strangers who now know of him.
You have become our hero, Americas hero. You have placed a long lasting memory in our hearts of who you were and what you have become. We have been blessed to have known you if even just for awhile. We wish to thank you once again for your bravery. May you find peace and harmony with the Lord.

Lopez you will never be forgotten and i will never forget everything you did for josh and i! we love you
I am home in heaven, dear ones;
oh, so happy and bright!!
There is perfect joy and beauty
in this everlasting light.
all the pain is gone now
everyy restless tossing passed;
i am now at peace forever,
safely home in heaven at last
did you wonder i so calmly
trod the valey of the shade?
oh! but jesus' love illuminated
every dark and fearful glade
and he came himself to meet me
in that way so ahrd to tread;
and with jesus' arm to lean on,
could i have one doubt or dread?
then you must not grieve so sorely.
for i love you dearly still:
try to look beyond earth's shadows'
pray to trust out fathers will.
there is work still waiting for you,
so you must not idly stand;
do it now, while life remainith
you shall rest in jesus' land.
when that work is all completed,
he will gently call you home;
oh, the rapture of that meeting,
oh, the joy to see you come!

Heaven is a little sweeter when you have a son already there.
When my son, LCpl Abraham Simpson, was killed November 9, 2004 in Fallujah, all I could do was cling to what the Bible says is true about heaven, and God's promises to all those who put their faith in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation.
You will never be the same person you were before your son slipped into eternity, but God wants to be everything you need now more than ever. May you find Him to be just that, and thank God for all those whom God uses to share your burden of grief.
May God bless and comfort you. You are not alone. We are all here for you.

Dearest Lopez family,
My deepest sympathy to your family. When one of our young brave men give the ultimate sacrifice, a part of each of us suffers that loss. God Bless you and yours during this difficult time. May you know Gods peace and comfort in this time of trial and mourning. Your son, I am sure has mounted up with the wings of eagles and rest peacefully with our Lord. Dear Lopez family:
No one can really know what you are feeling except for those who have experienced the exact same tragedy. Those of us who are experiencing the freedom that Hugo fought to save are exceedinly appreciative of your son's faithfulness and courage in the face of such dangers to himself and his cohorts. My own son, newly entered into the Air Force, may one day be in a very dangerous place also, and he has already settled it in his heart that his service to his country may just take his life. I have had to settle that in my heart too, and although I am very proud of my son for his patriotism and dedication, should he die, I would miss him greatly, as I know you are missing your own Hugo right now. People can tell you he is in "a better place," but you still hurt. Only the Lord can heal that hurt.

I know that words are of little comfort right now....please know you are in my thoughts and prayers! Hugo made the ultimate sacrifice, and he will always be remembered as a HERO!

To the Lopez family,
I met Hugo through his Navy medic Sean Scott. We were very close in age and Sean thought that we would be good friends. I wrote to Hugo once but before I could write again he was hurt. I just found the address to the hospital where he was. I was told he was doing alot better. But soon after I sent it out my friend Sean had told me the news. I'm very sad that another young man has died. But its an honorable death. And I think him and the family for his sacrafice. R.I.P. LnCpl Hugo Lopez.

To the Family of Lance Cpl. Hugo R. Lopezlopez:
I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away. God Bless this courageous soldier and his family.
