Hey there Brother. Haven't been on here for a while. But I'm back. I'm been dealing with some things. I'm getting help and I'm back to being a version of myself. Even though I've been m.i.a, you are still an inspiration to me. How I wish you were here listening to Chalino and talking about all of our acomplishments. On this Memorial Day I hope your family is doing well and you are watching over all of us. God bless and Semper Fi.

I pray for you although I know you are in a better place- where there is now war to fight because the battle has been won...I wonder what heaven must be like all the time. What Jesus looks like and what you look like in the fullness of your new glorified body. I miss you buddy and can't help but be terribly saddened as we have lost a hero. I am so sorry for the loss of Hugo, we all lose when a Hero is taken.

My son, Cpl. Brian Jackson is in Iraq now. He is in Echo Btry, I believe the same as Hugo. When I pray for Brian everyday, I always mention Hugo and his loving family to the Lord. I do that but I know He is very familiar with Hugo already.

Hugo was my favorite cousin in the world he was funny he always made me and everybody laugh we miss him. I cant wait to see him again.We miss you Hugo. His heart is always with me and my heart is always with him

I met Hugo in kindergarten. I lost contact with him for a few years after that, but met him again in high school. To me, he never changed. He has always been a strong person. I never saw him without a smile. Everyone that knew him always spoke highly of him, and were proud to say that he was their friend. I was proud to call him my friend and it was an honor to have known him. My thoughts and prayers go out to Hugo, his family and his friends.

Dear family,

Hugo, has shown great honor, courage and commitment as a U.S. Marine. He has come to my home a few times to pick up my son, so they can get to football practice, while still in High School. Then they became fellow Marines, brothers for life. I will remember his big smile, and how very polite he was.

Hugo, has touched the hearts of many people near to him as well as strangers who now know of him.

You have become our hero, Americas hero. You have placed a long lasting memory in our hearts of who you were and what you have become. We have been blessed to have known you if even just for awhile. We wish to thank you once again for your bravery. May you find peace and harmony with the Lord.

I am one of the Marines who participated in the Honor Guard that assisted in the ceremony the day of the funeral. I did not know LCpl Lopez, however, I just wanted to send my condolences to the family of this Marine. It hurts all Marines whenever we lose one of our own. When my son, LCpl Abraham Simpson, was killed November 9, 2004 in Fallujah, all I could do was cling to what the Bible says is true about heaven, and God's promises to all those who put their faith in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation.



You will never be the same person you were before your son slipped into eternity, but God wants to be everything you need now more than ever. May you find Him to be just that, and thank God for all those whom God uses to share your burden of grief.

My own son, newly entered into the Air Force, may one day be in a very dangerous place also, and he has already settled it in his heart that his service to his country may just take his life. I have had to settle that in my heart too, and although I am very proud of my son for his patriotism and dedication, should he die, I would miss him greatly, as I know you are missing your own Hugo right now. People can tell you he is in "a better place," but you still hurt. Only the Lord can heal that hurt.

I have never met you. God so young to die defending our freedom. You are a true hero. Your family should always be told that. I for one and thankful that brave men our protecting our borders. We must never allow hatred to take over our freedom. I for one know hatred. I lost my brother on 9/11. A firefighter he died saving people from those horrible towers. I believe you gave your life protecting us so that we never expiernece such aweful pain that was inflicted on us that day. So many families lives were altered forever. I met Hugo through his Navy medic Sean Scott. We were very close in age and Sean thought that we would be good friends. I wrote to Hugo once but before I could write again he was hurt. I just found the address to the hospital where he was. I was told he was doing alot better. But soon after I sent it out my friend Sean had told me the news. I'm very sad that another young man has died. But its an honorable death. And I think him and the family for his sacrafice. R.I.P. LnCpl Hugo Lopez.

I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away. God Bless this courageous soldier and his family.
