Hello,
We wanted you to know that we will be honoring and remembering your loved one this holiday season. We are sending Care Packages to our deployed troops in his name. Each package will carry the name, photo, service branch, rank and hometown of Joshua M. Pearce US Army Specialist.
We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families, friends and many others who support our mission.
We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.
Sincerely,

Josh,
You my friend are missed dearly. I still look at photos just to see that smile. You were so shy in middle school when it came to girls. I remember giving you advise. We use to get in trouble for passing notes all the time but we didn't care. Wow I just wish we could have seen each before you left. I could have gave you one more hug. Its so hard being in Guymon and seeing your face. Josh you were and still are loved. I will never forget what you have done for our country. That's the Josh I remember! I could go on and on but I will just wait until I see that smile again someday. Love you Josh! Rip!

First guy to take me to a bar, and not play the Army game off duty, overall the best guy in the company, and you can say that before his death. He was funny, charismatic, and the funniest guy, he lit up a room. If this was high school he would have been the quarter back, he had the most friends because the guy was just uplifting to be around

The flag is flying in the sky
A daily reminder of who and why
We sit here remembering them today
These heroes that now lie in their grave.
While here on earth, the bravest ones
A soldier, a mother, a daughter, a son
The father's who went far off to war
To ensure our safety and so much more
To keep our children happy and free,
Someone must do this job, you see
So, today remember the soldiers who served,
Because this is one thing they truly deserve.
The loved one's that they have left behind,
The Gold Star mothers, like your and mine
We honor them proudly, every day
Our American Soldier...Proud and Brave
By Shannon Williams-Austill
I want to thank this soldier for their sacrifice.
And, I wish to extend my deepest regards to the loved ones they have left behind. Their service to our nation, has not gone unnoticed. They are our heroes, who paid the ultimate price for us, and that is something that every American needs to be reminded of and remember everyday.
The freedom we all have, we have because of brave young men and women who made a choice to defend and serve.
Today, let me remember your loved one with you.

Two years ago today our good friend Diddy was taken from us. Time has flown by but yet the memories of Josh have not faded nor will they ever. Every person has their own memories of Josh and he has touched each and everyone of them in their own unique way. Its odd to see our childhood friends grow up, get married, and have kids when Josh and I both found that Duty and Country seemed to be top of our priorities. Its not a political thing its just something that is in our blood and heart. Now that I am to embark on my 3rd deployment I have little worries. With JP tattoo'd on my arm in constant memory I know my brother will be there watching over me. No matter how much blood, sweat, and tears I have to shed in Iraq, I am doing it for this True American Hero Josh Pearce. Like I said its not a political thing...its our BLOOD!
Josh we miss you every single day that goes by...you will NEVER be forgotten.

I'll be the first to leave my stamp on you in 2008. Diddy no matter how many minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, or years that go by. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE A LIGHT IN ALL OF OUR LIVES. i swear that Damn Josh Pearce will never be forgotten. And on the real you are the one who really left a huge stamp in my life. I don't think any one else in this world could have made any situation better than u did. Make the best of life and forget bout the rest. I love you Josh and you are forever my brother in arms. I'll never forget u and until we meet again. I love you Diddy, keep us safe.

I first met P-Diddy in Alaska I was stationed in Alaska also. We had some really wild and crazy times. The one thing that I will always remember about Josh was his love for life.
To his parents:
You had the greatest son ever, always there and never one to turn his back on his friends. Josh was the life and any event he was at. He will be missed but never forgotten. His name and memories will forever be enscribed in my heart and mind.
To Josh:
I know you are up there shown them angels how to get down. We didn't talk much during the time in Iraq, but you were in my prayer. Keep an eye out on me cause you know me. Thank you for your sacrifices for the country. Never told you this but I looked at you and G like my brother. One day we will all be back together and live it up heavenly style. I miss you man. Rest in peace man, I got this down here. From your brother in spirit.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

A year ago today my battle was taken from me. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about Josh. If only everyone that comes on this page could have known what a wonderful spirit he is. He had a smile to die for and his laughter was contagious. I know he is watching over all of us. I will always hold Josh near to my heart and no matter what he will be with me forever. His rememberance is tattoo'd on my arm as well as my heart. I love you Josh and we all miss you!

I was blessed to have known Josh. We partied together, graduated High School together, then ultimately Served Our Country together. I was in Baghdad when Josh was killed. I will say its been the hardest thing to go through during this deployment. Josh's personality was a one of a kind. He is my HERO and i'm blessed to have had him in my life. When I know all hell is about to break loose outside the wire I look at the moon. That is my sign Josh is looking out for me. Forever my battle buddy and I know he is looking over me. Fallen but NOT FORGOTTEN. I LOVE YOU JOSH AND I MISS YOU!

Psalm 23
1
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
3
He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
This is a verse that I have found to be comforting to me during my husbands death. Remember that when it seems that no one else is round, God is still there with you! And he will be your rock! And that we now know our "Guardian Angel" personally!
My daughter,McKaLyne, and I send our heartfelt sympathy for your loss! God Bless this warrior, God Bless those whom serve freedom's cause! They are our true HERO's!!!!

I would like to thank all of you for your kind words and thoughts. Joshua was my son. My eldest son Jeremy was in Iraq at the time of Joshua's death and escorted him back to the states. Jeremy is serving his second tour there, also in the Army. We buried Josh on March 7th in Guymon,Ok. The service was very nice and no doubt touched a lot of people. My son died doing something he loved and believed in and will never be forgotton. You can read more on-line in the Guymon Ok. Herald newspaper on the week of Feb 28. The very last time I saw Josh was my freshman year. To me he was a very great person to be around. When I first heard of his death, it shocked me, but slowly it all sank it. To his family, I am very sorry for what has happened. In a sense, he hasn't left us. He lives because we all remember how special and courageous he was. He died for a cause he believed in and with that he will always be honored.

To the Pearce family,
It is because of people like Joshua, who love and cherish their country and their freedom so much, that make America so great. I did not know Joshua, nor did he know me, yet he was willling to die for his country, for myself, and for every other American Citizen as well as for the Citizens of Iraq. Their is no greater a sacrifice or more honerable a service than that of an American Soldier, and the service and sacrifice of Joshua M. Pearce. He paid the ultimate sacrificce, and for that I pay my deepest respects. To the Pearce family, I know this is a hard time, but God will help you through. You have my sincere sympathy. Becky,
I never knew Josh but was happy to do the tribute in the Gazette for him. I can truly say I came to know him through all the family, friends and teachers and I do believe he got his love of life from you. You have always been such a bubbly person and it sounds like Josh was the same. He will always be in my heart as a true American hero and for that I will always love and cherish him. You know where I am and I am always willing to listen or let you cry on my shoulder. I will keep Josh in my prayers always and will be praying for Jeremy no matter where he is. Thanks for letting me be the one to help with the tribute, it was a true pleasure getting to know such a fine young man. He will truly be missed by all. My love and prayers are with you and your family. God will take care of you through all of this. Love ya!!

My prayers and heartfelt sympathy are extended to Josh’s family for your loss. I was fortunate enough to have met Josh in April of 2005 when I visited my best friend in Alaska. Immediately Josh held a special place in my heart that I knew would be there forever. I am sure that anyone who knew him can say that when he smiled at you it touch your heart and soul and you couldn't help but smile back. Being in the military myself, I know the risks that are taken everyday by the men and women fighting for what they love and believe in and Josh was no exception. He will forever be a hero to me and many others as well as a dear friend. Josh you will be missed

I grew up right down the street from Josh. The last time I saw him was at his grad. from high school. After all this time when I got the news from one of our very good friends. The only thing that came to my mind was his smile. I started to read all the articles and they all talk about his smile. I think everyone that knew Josh will remember that smile forever. In my eyes Josh was a very brave young man, that I will always think of as a hero and someone that I was very proud of. To Becky and Rick I wish I was not over sea's so i could tell you face to face that your son was one of my greatest friends and such a wonderful person. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.

To the Family of Spc. Joshua M. Pearce:
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courgeous young man who gave his life so selflessly. We lost our son 12/1/05.
I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with. They will never be forgotten, never able to be replaced, but sometime, someday your memories will sustain you. This courageous soldier will forever now be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well. If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away. God Bless this courageous soldier and his family.
