Lambo,
I posted on this page 10 years ago. So much has happened in that time. So much I wish I could have bounced off you. So many names that come up on this page, some familiar, some new to me. But you are the link that ties us all together. I think of you often as I do your family and our family of brothers from days gone by. 15 years, man. What you could have done with that time that would have been so much better than what I did. Life is not fair in that way. Miss you, Lambo.

Thought about you again today, my brother. Each time things get tough, I think of you, ask myself what you would do, then I do it. I hope that in this life, I will be able to honor you and what you meant to us here. And in the next life, we will get together and laugh, like we used to. Miss you, my brother.

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

That you are round about me, I believe”
Please contact me and I will email you back a copy of the Angel drawing I have posted here.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

I also served with Sgt. Lambersom in Germany back around '99-'00.
We often say overly flattering things about people after they pass away. Things that may be a bit of an exaggeration or stretch of the truth. That would be hard to do to this man. Any praise that can be given to Sgt. Lamberson is well deserved and well warranted.
During my time in his platoon, I observed a man that was worthy of all the respect we could give him. He never ever demanded respect. You just wanted to give it to him. He had a rare kindness, not often enjoyed in the Army. I am fortunate to have spent some time with him here on earth and will try to learn from what I saw in "Sgt. Lamb".
To his wife and kids, I believe in eternal families and I know that you will one day be reunited. God be with you till you meet again.

To the family,
Dana, I am not sure if you remember me, but I was stationed in Germany with your husband years ago. He guided me as a specialist and taught me so many things. I have said time and time again that if I had your husband in charge of me for the rest of my time in the service I would stay in forever. He was an awesome man, and a superb leader. To hear that a superman like your husband was taken is a thought so unbelievable. I am deeply sorry for your loss, and my condolences are with you and the kids.

To Dana, Kelsi, and Evan -
Our Army-life creates an unusual bond amongst those of us who know the varied sacrafices. I offer you my sincerest sympathy as the ultimate cost has now been felt by you and your families.
Kelsi, please remember your dad would want you to celebrate your life and blessings every year on your birthday (not to be the anniversary of sadness).
And Evan, I bet you are taking the role of the "guy in the house" with courage, but please remember to live your childhood and be a kid too. You are such a special boy!
Dana, I can only imagine the space left in your heart. It is my hope that your memories of your husband and your children help heal you.
God bless -

Dear Lamberson Family...My name is Judith Adams...and I am a flight attendant for American Airlines...I had the honor of being one of the flight crewmembers on the flight bringing your husband, son, and father's remains..to Chicago, from Philadelphia today...his casket was escourted by a wonderful Seargent named Edwards...(we put him in first class)...He was so attentive, and dignified..it brought us all to tears as he saluted the casket, as it was loaded on the plane..he never left it's side....he also told me later in flight..that it was an "honor" to escourt this man home....I asked him who the soldier was, and he gave me the name...something told me that this Seargent Lamberson was an exceptional person somehow...and I said a small prayer in the galley of the plane alone in flight to Chicago...I am a christian, and I know when the Lord gives me comfort regarding something...and he did about this man I did not know...He is safe in the arms of the Father, and his legacy will live on in the lives of the people he loved...I had to write you and let you know..that whenever something like this happens in our industry....we all take it seriously, and sadly....His remains were treated with the absolute utmost dignity, and respect, ....give my regards to Sge. Edwards....he is a remarkable man himself...you could see the sadness in his eyes regarding this duty...
May the Lord bless you all thru this difficult time...Sometimes it's nice to hear from people you don't even know....who feel your sadness as well.....The entire crew was impacted..We all truly care..

Dana, Kelsi, and Evan-
There are no words that will take away the pain, but our thoughts and prayers are with you. Randy's guidance, mentorship, and friendship to Patrick will always be remembered. Randy was a gift from God to all who knew him. His greatest legacies will be Kelsi and Evan, but running a close second are the soldiers who learned so much from him. We'll always be here whenever you need us.
God bless you all!

To the Family of Sgt. 1st Class Randall L. Lamberson:
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courgeous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life. We lost a son 12/1/05.
I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with. I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally, but none of these courageous men and women will be forgotten. They will never be able to be replaced, but sometime, someday your loving memories will help to sustain you. This courageous soldier will forever now be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well. To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort. When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero. God Bless this courageous soldier and family.
