We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Bachar Family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one. I know I'm overdue on my good-bye, but It really isn't a good-bye becuase we will see eachother again and then you can ask me why didnt we talk more and we can talk for eternity if God wills it. Salem, I remember being in Iraq with you while you wrote all those emails to your wife, I also remember that the last thing you said to me was "Hey man, call me when you get home" and thats probably one of the biggest regrets that I didnt. Your in a better place now bro and I still think about you all the time

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

I remember him coming up to me asking were do I get my dress blues and what to get for them we kept in touch for a while. The best thing Salem did besides marry his best friend, he became a Christian. I am glad he had that opportunity to find Him and know Him. I do miss him!

It is an honor to pay tribute to this Brave Young Marine, with a Multitude of Thanks, for his Courage, Dedication and Service to our Country and for Freedom.

Salem was a friend of my daughter Amanda. They met in middle school and continued their friendship through highschool. Both his mother and I worked at Hilltop Middle when they attended there.

Every time he would go to get a haircut, he would stop by and visit for a few minutes. Each time Amanda would tell him how "silly" his haircut looked. They were great friends, so he knew she was teasing him.

Salem had such a charming way about him, that made everyone love him. And funny, he could make anyone smile and laugh. When my daughter was so sick, it was Salem who visited her, and kept her spirits up.

Please accept our belated condolences on your loss. We tried very hard to make it to your service, but it just was not in the cards. Know that we hold a special place in our heart for him.

Dude its almost been a year since you were taken from us. I know its bad to regret but i do either way. I regret not keeping in touch with you more. I regret not being there more for and with you. I tell you this though, I hope to make it up one day to you when we meet again. I keep in touch as much as i can with Kristine and go up to see her and her family as often as my life lets me down here. I hope you heard me that one day i was at your resting place. I will try my best to keep in touch with everyone and your wife. I will do my best to not let any harm come to your wife. She is a strong woman. I cannot believe how strong she is. I remeber when I told you about joining the Air Force and you said I was just scared of doing the real work. I guess you were right. I was scared and you are my hero. I was with Cpl Bachar when he first came to Iraq this time. He was a great guy and I knew that he would do great things. He spoke lots about his wife and how they, like me, got married just prior to leaving for Iraq...we joked about how I got married only 5 days before I was shipped over there and he had gotten married 12 days prior. We talked about things like him wanting to buy a house and his love for his beautiful wife. He was so anxious about getting his well deserved promotion to Cpl. I was so shocked to hear that your husband, son, and brother had been killed in a recent attack. May the Lord be with you all during this very emotional time.



You all are forever in my thoughts,

Salem, you were like my big brother, always protecting me. I'll always remember that when I think of you. You were one of those people who would give someone the shirt of your back. I wish you would have chosen a different path for your career but I know the Marines is something you wanted. Your ceremony was beautiful and full of people who loved and knew you. To you and all the other fallen heroes your ultimate sacrifice will never be forgotten. I was proud to have known you as a Marine and proud to have called you my friend, but most importantly I am proud to have called you family.

I had a chance to work with Cpl Bachar last year in Iraq. He was extremely intelligent, a hard worker, and was always looking for ways to make a difference. Overall, a truly exceptional Marine. His family will be in my prayers.

i cant begin to tell you how much we will all miss you. your sense of humor and charming ways caught everyones attention. even when we made the jokes you allways knew how to handle them. you gave us such special memories that we will never forget, thankyou for loving kristie the way you do you will always live in our hearts and memories. i remember the last time we saw you everone was saying goodbye and we hugged you told me "take care of Kris for me" and thats exactly what we will all do. we will miss you very very much, but i cant wait to see you agian, all of us as family.

My family and I are praying for you and your family during this difficult time. We send our deepest empathy as we lost our Marine on 11/30/05 in Fallujah. We are comforted to know that our Marines are serving their country with such honor and bravery. We are so proud of our Marines and all of our other service men and women for all that they have done and continue to do to keep us safe and to give us the freedom we have that so many take for granted.

To the Family of Cpl. Salem Bachar:

My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courgeous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life. We lost a son 12/1/05.

I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with. I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally, but none of these courageous men and women will be forgotten. They will never be able to be replaced, but sometime, someday your loving memories will help to sustain you. This courageous soldier will forever now be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well. To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort. When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence.
