Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Bachar Family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and the hometown of Salem Bachar US Marine Corporal. We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.
Sincerely,

I just wanted to say that one of my 6th grade students selected Salem Bachar for his Veteran's Project. He will now be remembered on our wall this Veteran's Day at Saddleback Valley Christian School in San Juan Capistrano, California.
Everyone in the hall will get to read about him, and his extraordinary service to our country.
Thank you,

Salem,
You were always hyper and funny, up & about. Running everywhere. School was fun with you in it. Your hugs so tight and strong, sometimes sweaty hahaa. So outgoing and happy. I'm sure you still are happy. We didnt talk alot alot but we did and thats what counts. I know I'm overdue on my good-bye, but It really isn't a good-bye becuase we will see eachother again and then you can ask me why didnt we talk more and we can talk for eternity if God wills it. I'm not sad for your death here on earth, because we all continue living, wether it's here on earth or anywhere else. Watch over your wife, who I consider to be a very lucky woman for having a great man stand by her. Watch over Chente for me too just as a favor, hes the one that got away. We'll see you one day. Take care friend.

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

The memory of Cpl. Salem "Pacheco" Bachar will live forever in my heart and I will always feel blessed for having you, though brief as it was, a big part in my life. You were a true gentlemen, with a great love for your country, life, and a big kid at heart. Most of all, you had a great passion for "your love", Kristi.

To Salem's FAmily:
Salem was a friend of my daughter Amanda. They met in middle school and continued their friendship through highschool. Both his mother and I worked at Hilltop Middle when they attended there.
Every time he would go to get a haircut, he would stop by and visit for a few minutes. Each time Amanda would tell him how "silly" his haircut looked. They were great friends, so he knew she was teasing him.
Salem had such a charming way about him, that made everyone love him. And funny, he could make anyone smile and laugh. When my daughter was so sick, it was Salem who visited her, and kept her spirits up.
Please accept our belated condolences on your loss. We tried very hard to make it to your service, but it just was not in the cards. Know that we hold a special place in our heart for him.

Salem, I remeber sitting in class together and sharing strange jokes in the hallway during lunch. I remeber when I told you about joining the Air Force and you said I was just scared of doing the real work. I guess you were right. I was scared and you are my hero. May your family never lose faith in the work that you and all servicemen have done and died for this country to keep us safe and alive. My Dearest Salem,
Gosh we had been through so much, from middle school, to band, to sitting in Mr. Neil's class joking about hummingbirds and kiwis! I remember writing to you about being being pregnant and that my husband was on deployment and it was when you had first spoke of Kristine. it had been almost a year that you two had been together. All the wrestling matches I'd watch and how much dedication you had. I wish i would have said goodbye before I moved but, thats the military life. Kristine had a wonderful man to call her husband. Strong and caring. I'll miss you dearly. Your picture hangs in a frame on my wall and not a day goes by I don't think about you! Thanks for the memories!!!

You are going to be missed so much. You hardly got to live life, but you died for my freedom and the freedom of others and for that i thank you. You know we all have little chats about you and remember all of the good times that we had in high school and all the trouble we used to get each other in. Just to let you know, we all refuse to let your spirit go. You are in all of our hearts, each and every day. I love you Salem and I miss you very much

To my beautiful husband Salem. I miss you beyond belief honey and my heart is completely shattered. I am so proud of you and so proud to be your wife. We didn't get the chance to fulfill all of our goals and plans that we had but I am so thankful for the sweet memories that I have of you/us. You are the love of my life, my sweet temptation and I can't wait for the day until we are together again.
Your devoted wife,

The Bachar Family,
I was with Cpl Bachar when he first came to Iraq this time. He was a great guy and I knew that he would do great things. He spoke lots about his wife and how they, like me, got married just prior to leaving for Iraq...we joked about how I got married only 5 days before I was shipped over there and he had gotten married 12 days prior. We talked about things like him wanting to buy a house and his love for his beautiful wife. He was so anxious about getting his well deserved promotion to Cpl. I was so shocked to hear that your husband, son, and brother had been killed in a recent attack. May the Lord be with you all during this very emotional time.
You all are forever in my thoughts,
Jackie S.

Salem, you were like my big brother, always protecting me. I'll always remember that when I think of you. You were one of those people who would give someone the shirt of your back. I wish you would have chosen a different path for your career but I know the Marines is something you wanted. Your ceremony was beautiful and full of people who loved and knew you. May your soul rest in peace and I look forward to the day when we meet again. I love you.

I had a chance to work with Cpl Bachar last year in Iraq. He was extremely intelligent, a hard worker, and was always looking for ways to make a difference. Overall, a truly exceptional Marine. His family will be in my prayers.

To Salem's family and friends-
My family and I are praying for you and your family during this difficult time. We send our deepest empathy as we lost our Marine on 11/30/05 in Fallujah. We are comforted to know that our Marines are serving their country with such honor and bravery. We are so proud of our Marines and all of our other service men and women for all that they have done and continue to do to keep us safe and to give us the freedom we have that so many take for granted.
They are true Heroes and need to always be remembered for their selflessness and sacrifice to better our world. We will forever be united in the loss of our heros. We are so sorry for your loss and hope our words will ease some of the pain, and maybe fill some of your emptiness.
Yesterday, Today, Forever – Semper Fi - Marines!

To the Family of Cpl. Salem Bachar:
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courgeous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life. We lost a son 12/1/05.
I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with. I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally, but none of these courageous men and women will be forgotten. They will never be able to be replaced, but sometime, someday your loving memories will help to sustain you. This courageous soldier will forever now be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well. To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort. When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero. God Bless this courageous soldier and family.
