I can remember Wallace as if it was yesterday. He was my soldier years ago while stationed in Hawaii. SPC Terry was my best soldier, but he was a nut. Smiling now just thinking about him. Every years I go on-line to just see his picture. Terry is clowning right now in Heaven, May God Bless you all. Contact # 919-815-0861

To the family of SFC Wallace my deepest condolences, I considered SFC Wallace a true friend and great NCO. I went to every military school with Terry starting back in 96" at PLDC in Hawaii, BNCOC and ANCOC together at Ft Sill, OK. We would always seem to get separated thru all of our travels throughout the Army, but I guess it was fate that always brought us back together so I could learn from this great man, Terry is truely missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. Rest in peace Buddy......

I know that the love we shared will never be forgotten. You were and always will be missed by me and mine. It was the tatoo that held us together as friends forever. My prayers will always be with your family and loved ones. I fell to the floor when I saw it on the internet. It has been years since I heard from you. You emailed and sent a picture of you in Iraq. You said you had been over there two times and you were headed back and you had had a son and I was happy for you.You said that I helped you to be the man you became and I can only thank GOD for the trials of our love and friendship. I prayed all would be well with you. Even though I am just finding out it still hurts as though it just happened. I pray that your children will have the strength to yet through this. I know that Brittany is a big girl know or young woman. You left Fort Bragg, North Carolina and was never allowed to come back. You talked about your family so much I only wish I could have met them. But in my heart I did. You will be missed...Just Keep Smiling...Love Always Cassie

I was Terry's platoon sergeant at Fort Hood, TX for a while. He took over all of my additional duties when I retired in 2001. We had a lot of good times together and I always thought of him as a 'winner'.
When I heard of his untimely death, it made me think of my own mortality. I can say this he always thought of his soldiers first and himself second. The corps (NCO corps) lost a good man and mentor. He will always be remembered.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Terry, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

It seems like just yesterday when I heard the tapping on my door and my dear friend saying to me come on battle buddy lets go get our workout on as we headed to the gym to try and reclaim some of our youth back.Although my heart is heavy at this time because you are no longer with us my dear friend and brother I will always keep you close to my heart.I often feel responsible at times because Terry and I made a promise to each other that we would always have each others back and that we would take care of each other as long as we were over there in Taji. Even though we were in different Battery's in 4-42FA we did just that until I had to leave Taji and go to another part of Iraq. I often felt that if I had never left that I would still have my friend here with me. When ever our minds were trouble we would sit and talk with one another to let the other know that everyting would be ok.In my 20 plus years of service I have never been closer to anyone than I was with my friend and brother BIG "O" as I use to call him.My friend was a Great Soldier,a Great American, and a Good man.I have dedicated a special place in my home on my wall for my friend and brother so that I will always remember the person and man that he was. To all of Terry's Family, Friends and Loved One's my GOD continue to bless you all, and may he always keep Terry close to your hearts as he will always be close to mine. 1SG retired Ervin Woodard Jr Alpha Battery 4-42FA

My son was with Sgt. Wallace at Camp Taji and talk very highly of him. My son, Cpl. Russell Makowski was also KIA in Taji, he was in the 4-42FA. When he was home on leave he told me about Sgt. Wallace and what a good Soldier and a HERO he was. In March the 4-42 is being deployed to Iraq agian and I feel in my heart that Terry and Russ will be there looking over them to keep things safe. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of these two Hero's and what they did for our country. GOD BLESS Sgt. Terry Wallace.

Your Birthday Month Aug 15, Missing you.
August 19, 2007
There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers
Soldiers write history, we pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever
Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away
Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go
We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light
Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray
Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

To the Family: Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you. TJ is truly missed. I served with him in Hawaii in 1993 and we would always complain about how we missed our MOM'S SOUTHERN COOKING, and later seven years had past before I saw him again, as I was visiting Germany in 2000. I remember how he ran up to me and greeted me with the biggest smile and hugg! That's something that he would always share with everyone he loved and cared for, wich would always brighting your day. Bro' I know you are watching over all of us and I know someday we will meet again, so until, MUCH LOVE and "Foxtrot Never Stops" (Motto of the F/BTRY, 7th FA Schofield BKS, HAWAII in 1993)!

My love goes out to Terry and his family. I met Terry in 1990 in Hawaii and we shared some great times with a fun group of friends. I can still remember him taking pictures with his polaroid camera and posing for self-portraits. He was such a great guy. I was sorry to hear that he was no longer with us. He had a great sense of humor and always could make you laugh. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Danielle Bradley

I was deeply sadden to hear the lost of one of the true warriors in the United States Army. Terry and I served together in the 2-20th FA BN, Ft Hood, Texas and developed a wonderful friendship. His hard charging spirit carried the unit through a lot of tough situations. The soldiers and command really respected Terry. Even though we have never met in person, my prayers will continue to be with the Wallace family. My God continue to bless and keep you,

To the family of SFC Wallace. I would like to express my deepest sympathy. It has taken me awhile to gather the courage to logon an sign this guest book. I took it personal when this incident happened because SFC Wallace was my prayer partner. I could always depend on him to lift my spirits with a scripture from our Farther's word. We past these scriputres back an forth since we started this tour in Iraq. I truly miss my friend but I know he's in a better place.

It was with great sadness that I heard of SFC Wallace's passing. I was notified by email on the 2nd of August. My sympathy and heart felt condolances go to his family and friends. I knew SFC Wallace for 4 years at Fort Hood and he was my section chief when I left the Active Army. In the field, we would spend hours talking about everything and it will be those times I will remember most. He was a Soldiers Soldier and those who had the pleasure to work with him are better today because of it.
I had not spoke to him for years and he sent me an email in February. He said he looked me up on AKO and wanted to see how I was doing. That gave me a chance to tell him thanks for putting up with me and teaching me all that he did. He cared for his Soldiers under his command and still cared for Soldiers he had not seen or heard from in years. I think that says a lot to what type of leader he was. I will miss him.

It was truely a sad day when I was notified of TJ's passing. I have had the honor of knowing this brave young man. I have so many memories of the younger years of his military career at Fort Hood. I remember the honesty and loyalty that I admired, not afraid to speak his mind, and tell the truth no matter how difficult. His family always at his heart, and experiences readily shared with his soldiers to keep them from harm. A true Radar expert dedicated to learning all he could to protect the soldiers he supported and buck the system if he felt it was needed. Our army will miss him, But those who knew him, are the truest loosers. To his family, thank you for sharing him with us. Terry was a pleasure to have as my soldier, and teamate. We played Softball together on many teams at FORT HOOD over the 10 years I have known him, those tournaments and weekends will always be some of my best memories. I will always remember him pointing to the right field fence as he parked so many of those homers( and a few popups). His competitiveness inspired us all. May God Bless and Keep your family.

To the Family and friends of SFC Terry(TJ) Wallace. I know there's nothing that could comfort you in this time of grief. I am a good friend of TJ and it's hard to believe he's gone. Just about 3 weeks ago I talked with him face to face and he was the same old loud and happy TJ, we go back to 1996 when we changed our jobs together. Once we found out that we were both from Louisiana, we just clicked. He will be sadly missed and I will keep the family in my prayers in your time of grief.

I had the pleasure over the years to grow very close to SFC Terry Wallace or "T.J." as all of his friends called him. We first met back in 1996 while stationed in the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Field Artillery. Over the years, as our friendship continued to develop he became like a big brother to me. The fact that we were both from Louisiana made our friendship even more worthwhile. T.J. was a very fun-loving person. He was always the life of the party. He knew when it was time to take care of business, or just time to have fun. T.J. will be greatly missed by everyone that was blessed to personally know him but especially by those who were priviledged to call him their "friend."
Rest in Peace T.J.

To the Family of Sgt. lst Class Terry O.P. Wallace:
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courgeous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life. We lost a son 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday.
I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with. I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally, but none of these courageous men and women will be forgotten. They will never be able to be replaced, but sometime, someday your loving memories will help to sustain you. This courageous soldier will forever now be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well. To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is those wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever. If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero. God Bless this courageous soldier and family.
