Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Michael T. Fuga US Army Sergeant 1st Class.

We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.

Visited the gravesite today to pay my respect to a Michael. May God continue watching over his family, and may we always remember and recognize his supreme service and sacrifice to our great country.

My dear wife and your sister Mary would post here if she hadn't passed away on 14 September 2019. She remembered you so fondly. May those of us who remain look forward to the greatest of reunions along with all those who look for the coming of our Lord. Amen.

20 years to mark 9/11/01, but 15 years since we walked the fields of Panjwai. You are not forgotten.

Well, old freind, I am back in Iraq and thinking of you again. I sure miss you and your giant hand wrapped around mine every time that we would shake hands in greeting between friends. Even though you've been gone soo long *physically i know your with Mom and I every single day. School sucks! I work at Aeropostale in the mall and just had an interview today at AMC hoping i get that too! No sports this year just wanting to focus on my grades and save up for what i want to do after school. A little over four years I said goodbye to a great guy in the north of Afghanistan after spending almost half a year together with him...not knowing that our hand shake would be the last one i'd ever make with him.... His sacrifice must never be forgotten and it's from the bottom of my heart when I say God bless Micheal Fuga and all the people dear to him!!!

When you and Nate left us that day in Kandahar,You showed me how to treat my soldiers, now that I am a Sergent and I see the impact that I leave on my Specialists and privates just as you impacted me I realize that you were one of the people that helped make me who I am and I am in debt to you. I can only repay that debt to you buy passing on what I learned from you to my soldiers. It has been almost 4 years now and I am heading for Iraq,
I will be thinking of you as I always have been since that day that you and Nate were taken from us.I will be praying for your family and friends that were close to you.

Hi Uncle Michael...

Sorry I didnt come by and wish you a happy 4th of July...

Mines was good...sucky part was I had to work...But it is okay...I know there are other people who miss out on the best days for many months on end because they are in sucky Iraq...I thank them and you for fighting for our country...

Well Uncle I have to go now...I have to get ready for church...Its first Sunday so yeah...Its means a lot to me to go to church...I think this is my last Sunday until my schedule changes again...But I will try to come to church right after I get off...Okie dokie Uncle...God Bless...Lova and miss you!!!

Hi Uncle Michael!!!

Well as you can see from where you are...I got a job...Im so happy...

Dad just came back from Seattle...He wants to move there...But my heart says no...for some reason...

Maybe because it is a whole new place I have never been to...

Im thinking of going to school at Remington...Start off there...

Elmer graudated in May...Clayton is still hard head dont listen Clayton...lol...

Mom is doing great...Im trying hard for her...

Papa just got surgery...And I think he is back at the care center...Im gonna go visit him when I have time off of work...

But yeah thats all that has been going on down here...

How is it there?? I miss you a lot...Dad had to run the dvd of your stuff...and I started to cry...

Hey Uncle...My cousin is up there...You know Virgil...Yeah...Tell him hi and please Uncle watch over him...I miss him quite a lot...I wish he were here...He has a daughter too...Maybe you guys have quite a lot in common...So yeah talk to him...

Anyways Uncle please keep an eye out on our troops...I hear the Marines need more people...Im so scared they are going to take Francis...And my cousin Diamond is in the Army and he says he might get deployed back to Iraq...Uncle this is his 4th time going...The first time or 2nd time he went...His entire platoon was killed...And then he went back again...His best friend was killed...And im so scared Uncle that I may never see him again...Please Uncle keep and eye out on them...

I pray for you guys every night and that you all are resting peacefully...I know you must be out on the fields with your fellow soldiers...

I met Sgt Fuga in Kunduz Afghanistan in July 2005. I was an advisor to 2/209th and so was he. We had a chance to briefly get to know each other before I was injured. He was a great guy

Mary said they had a beautiful celebration commemorating 1 year since your departure. Justina and Salome cut the ribbon, and the family released the balloons designating the end of mourning.

Just a note to let the family know that SFC Fuga is remembered on this 1st anniversary of his death. I was an advisor to the 3/1/209th Afghan National Army as part of an infantry training team, and had the privilege of serving in the same brigade training group with SFC Fuga. I have thought of him several times today, and wanted you to know that I appreciate and honor his and your sacrifice.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
