Remembering Carl & the Eason family during this Holy Season.

It seems like it has been forever since we lost Carl, I just wanted to let you know that I still think about him all the time. "Stallions on the move" Carl.

Eason, man it seems like ages ago when we were downrange together,but i remember it like it was yesterday. I miss you man, and I pray that god watches over your family. I know you are up there in heaven watching over them as well

Hey Eason.....its 2012, may and im still thinkin about ya bro. Sigh....wish you were still around man. Keep watchin out for your mom and everyone out in Texas.

I Remember when i was having a bad day and Carl in Kuwait before we left for Baghdad. he helped me carry the 50cal and some machine guns to the bus. i didn't know how to thank him. he took the time out of his own to help me.

i have a picture of Carl holding my 249 when we were out in the field.

we went to cologne once with some friends, that was a good time.
i have many memories of Carl. he was a good friend and i miss him.

I remember going to basic training with carl. He was a good freind and a true Hero, I will never forget him or what we fight for.

I don't pretend to know what to say or do that would bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. To the family of Spc. Eason, I wanted to let you know I attended the memorial service in Baumholder and I wanted to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. I flew over from Japan the night before (I teach high school at a navy base here) and I spoke on behalf of my family at the dual-memorial. They flew in from England (my mom is a teacher at a navy base there). My brother was killed the day before your son, October 22nd.

I'm sorry you were unable to attend, but I assure you it was a very moving and very fitting tribute to your amazing son.

Your son, like my brother, specifically asked to be moved up to, as they said in my brother's memorial service they held in Baghdad shortly after his death, "the tip of the spear". I know my brother would have respected and admired your son for his bravery and determination.

One of his fellow soldiers at the memorial mentioned Carl's big smile; it could always cheer you up no matter how foul your mood. Your son sounds a great deal like my brother: David had that ability to cheer up anyone around him.

In short, I'm so very sorry for your loss.

my son-in-law also was stationed in baumholder, and died in iraq on 10/20/06. i know the pain of your loss, and your family will be in my prayers. may all of our fallen heroes know peace at last.

As a classmate of Carl's I remember him as fun, outgoing and caring. His family is my thoughts and prayers. I hope that they can find comfort in this time of sorrow. Please know that we are eternally grateful for the ultiimate sacrifice that Carl paid for our country.

I recently heard the sad news about our Friend and Brother from Lovelady, Texas. Not a day goes by that we do not pray for the safety of all of our Warriors fighting for the very peace that allows me to sit here in the comfort of my own home and write you this email.

If your child can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 as well and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for right now. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten . You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
