I did not have the honor of knowing Tamario
Only the realization of the soul of a patriot
While following the news from the front
Pondered and prayed for his safety
Safe at home working on my girls room
Left desolate when his fate was revealed
There is nothing I can offer but the promise to remember. SF

I went to boot camp and served with him until he made the ultimate sacrifice for his country. He was one of the realest people I ever had the pleasure to know. I think of him occasionally and stumbled upon this. He has, and will continue to be missed.

”Honor and Remember” - “Project Compassion” We love our Soldiers! We love our country and we cannot express enough love and compassion to the families of our fallen heroes. War does not discriminate – It breaks our hearts to see the faces of the fallen. We want to give this gift to the hero’s Mother, Father and/or spouse. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization! Almost 2,100 portraits have been completed and shipped to the parents and or spouse - at no cost as this is a gift from one American to another!
This is a gift! We have wonderful sponsors who help with the costs, and want you know that everyone here at Project Compassion does and will always CARE.
Contact us directly at [email protected] or go to www.heropaintings.com . If you have already had a portrait completed, we pray that you are enjoying the portrait and God Bless You.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I found myself thinking of Tamario today, as I do from time to time, but today was different. It came out of no where...then I looked at the calendar and seen what yesterday was...3 years. Its so sad, and still so strange. I went to McKinley with him, and thats what I remember. Its been 3 years and sometimes I still don't believe it. His Sacrifice will always be remembered, many will always be greatful, and just as they did three years ago, my prayers are with his family. God Bless.

Hi America,
It's Tomorrio's Aunt Tina just checking in to say hello and thank you for the love you have shown to LCPL Tamario Burkett family. We thank you for your prayers and encouraging words. Our Super hero lives on in our hearts and memories.
He is forever in my presence I have a wall with pictures of LCPL Tamario and his family and myself setting on my piano chair and my wall in my living room. I often look at pictures I took with him and his family when I visited them in Buffalo and many other pictures my sisters his mother sent me through out his life.
My sister always knew Tomorrio was like my child I always was there for him and used to go pick him up to come and spend the weekend with me or just go by her house and pick him up and take him to the store for ice cream and goodies. Tomorrio always knew his auntie loved him and when he needed something or his siblings his mother never hesitated to call me because she knew she could always depend on me to come through for the family. Tomorrio have two grand parents Benjamin and Ruby Lee Burkett who loved him dearly and he loved them. There was nothing my parents wouldn't do for Tomorrio he was a new beginning for them he brought so much laughter into their life. I remember when Tomorrio would see his grandparents he would be so happy and smiling from ear to ear just laughing. He had a great grand mother Louester Burkett that he enjoyed being around also she used to bounce him all the time on her legs and when she would stop he would bounce himself letting her know that he wanted her to do it some more.
Tomorrio was a light that shinned bright and his kindergartner teacher sent us a card stating she knew Tomorrio was destine for greatness. She said he was so eager to learn and was always the first one to get to the reading circle in his class. She said he loved to learn and had a great imagination she reflected on an incident when Tomorrio stood up for his intergrity. What she didn't know at the time is that his imagination was part of his destiny. He knew from a very young age he would be a super hero. His sibings says he was their mentor and the greatest big brother anyone can ever have.
The amazing part about my nephew life is that he touched so many people lives from his school days to his military days. The loving and gentle nature of Tomorrio crossed over bloodlines and color. He touched so many people lives in such a short period of time. I pray America can learn the lesson of Love, Empity, Compassion, and unselfishness from LCPL Tamario Burkett, He did it all with humility.
America God took one of the best flowers out of his garden at full blossom when he plucket Tomorrio up on March 23, 2003. May God continue to bless and protect our young men and women that are serving their country and trying to give freedom to the oppressed.
Peace Out America,

pfc. Tamario will always be in my heart. I will always remember him from the time he was a little boy to a teenager then seeing him a man in the Marines. A man that loved his mother, brothers and sisters with loyalty and respect. Its okay if we must shed our tears just remember that he's with the Lord in heaven and pray we live a good life in the Lord and heaven will be our home. Remember GOD is to just to do wrong and to wise to make a mistake, put your TRUST in GOD and not man. God will wipe away all our tears and burdan hearts thru his son Jesus Christ name. Our Father in Heaven I pray in your son Jesus Christ name that you God will heal his mother, brothers, sisters and all the family and friends heart from burdan, hurt and pain, tears will only be shed of loving memories of Tamario Burkett in Jesus Christ Name, AMEN

Psalm 23
1
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
3
He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
This is a verse that I have found to be comforting to me during my husbands death. Remember that when it seems that no one else is round, God is still there with you! And he will be your rock!
My daughter,McKaLyne, and I send our heartfelt sympathy for your loss! God Bless this warrior, God Bless those whom serve freedom's cause! They are our true HERO's!!!!
