Curt E. Jordan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 28, 2005.
The day after Christmas, Sgt. Curt E. Jordan Jr. had the chance to visit with his family by satellite phone from Iraq. "He got to see us," said his mother, Linda Taylor of Silverdale, Wash. "I can close my eyes and I can see him." Two days later, Jordan died near Bayji, Iraq. He was involved in a minesweeping operation and fumes from a chemical he encountered apparently triggered a lethal reaction, perhaps from allergies, according to his stepmother, Tina Jordan. "He loved working on old cars, always Dodges," his stepmother said. "He was a really, really nice kid." "He was a good kid, a great father, a great son," said his father, Curt Jordan Sr., of Spokane Valley, Wash. Jordan is survived by his wife, Kim Lloyd Jordan, and their children, Felicia Kae Jordan, 6, and Derrek Ray Jordan, 2, all at Fort Lewis, Wash. A brother, Army Spc. Adam Jordan, was stationed 10 miles away when Jordan was killed, the family said.

Curt was a funny guy and always talked about his family and music. I do hope that his children have had a wonderful life and always knew that their Daddy watched over then. And he still does.

In Memory of Curt ~ (Debra Estep)

January 1, 2009

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Curt, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

To the Jordan family,

I know there are no words to say, except how sorry I am for your loss. May you hold Curts' memory in your heart and please remember he shall never be forgotten.

...For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed.

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

Father we entrust our brother Curt to your mercy. You loved him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever. Welcome him now into paradise where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but only peace and joy with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.
May God hold Curt in the palm of His hand. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My deepest sympathies.

Rest in peace and thank you from the bottom of my heart.

August 2, 2007

If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guest book for the rest of my life, but I promised LE RON A. WILSON (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.

There will never be enough ways, to humbly thank these Heroes, for their Supreme Sacrifice, my brother among them. KIA-Vietnam 1967.

"And God shall wipe away every tear from their eyes,
there shall be no more death,
nor sorrow, nor crying,
there shall be no more pain.
For the former things have have passed away."
Revelations 21:4

May you find peace in knowing the love and memories you have, will remain in your heart forever and that this Country remembers Curt's sacrifice.
I am deeply sorry for your loss.

To the family and friends

I have only just begun this journey and may not have known your loved one personally.

I extend to you my deepest condolences. No words will ever express the grief those close to this lost treasure are feeling. I can only say that I can share this grief as I too lost a loved one July 8, 2006. I will continue to pray for the safety of our soldiers and especially the family and friends of our lost hero’s. I only hope the memories will carry us through. I will continue pray that you also will believe and know that our heavenly father will not give us more than we can handle.

As always I read (and cry) through the memorials of our lost hero’s, So many people have already expressed the things I would also say. I am amazed and take comfort that so many people care. I can only thank you for the sacrifice you and especially Curt have made to protect our country. As others have said “I am only an email away.” I would be honored if you so choose to share about this fine man.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
