I am a close friend of Tim Toney's. We were stationed together at Camp Lejeune, N.C. (French Creek) and also at Quantico , Va. H.&S.. Bn. T.A.V.S.C. He was like a brother to me. I was his assistant coach for a T-Ball team for youth athletes 5-7 years old., and because of his competitive spirit, I coached a team myself the following year and told my team that "I don't care how many games we lose...as long as we beat coach Tony's team" In all actuality I can't remember if we won that game or not, but I believe in my mind that we did because I remember that I made sure that my kids had snacks after that game. I got out of the Marine Corps in 1991 and began a career in Federal Law Enforcement during which time I lost touch with my brother. Out of the blue, I wanted to look him up and try to find out where he was and try to link up with him. My heart was broken once I found out that he had passed on to his reward. He was a great friend and a great example for being a man, and a Marine. I will miss you and there is a special place in my heart (next to my Mom and Dad) that will never be filled. Love You Bro !!! I remember Toney and I meeting at swoop circle (French Creek) and riding in his Ford Escort heading home to Columbia, S.C. (1986) The dash lights didn't work so he had to use a flashlight to see how fast he was going. That joker wouldn't go over 55! Thought we'd never get home. SEMPER FI DEVILDOG DOG

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Toney Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

I can't even find the words...I lost my 19 year old son--5 Sept 2007, Balad, Iraq. I am absolutely devastated and I know that you are too...but find comfort in the fact that we will see our loved ones, our heroes again. Do I wish that I could trade places with my son? ABSOLUTELY not. He is in the arms of our Lord--"And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away" ~Rev 21:4
What a wonderful thought...
May God bless Master Sgt Timothy Toney, God bless you and your family and God bless America!

Father we entrust our brother Timothy to your mercy. You loved him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever. Welcome him now into paradise where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but only peace and joy with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

I am sorry that I didn't find this web-site earlier. I was in Kuwait when he passed away. He collapsed that day outside my tent. We provided CPR and tried the best we could to save him. My condolances to the family-May the Lord bless you and guide you through the years.

I wish I had known about this site sooner. I was a Marine with 2nd Battalion 1st Marines in fallujah in 2004. I was sick and was delayed from deploying with my unit. When I finally was able to fly over, it was with five other Marines, one of whom was MSGT Toney. I flew from the U.S. to London to Kuwait with MSGT Toney. He was a very likable man and everyone liked him as we got to know eachother a bit through traveling together. It was a shock to all of us when he collapsed. I had seen dead Marines before, but I had never watched helplessly as it happened before. I feel incredible sadness for MSGT Tony's family, especially his children, I know they were young. I will always remember him, and the feeling of that experience. I wish I could have written his family or posted on this site earlier.
