Shane L. Goldman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 28, 2005.
Lance Cpl. Shane Lee Goldman loved the Marines. His family is loaded with them, and he was eager to carry on the tradition. "He didn''t have any reservations about what he was going to do. He said, ''Hey, it is my job. That is what I am going to do,''" cousin James Davis said. Goldman, 19, of Orange, Texas, was killed April 5 while on patrol in Fallujah, Iraq. He would have turned 20 the next week, Davis said. Goldman had graduated from high school and joined the Marines in 2002. He got engaged a few months before his death, Davis said.

Gone but not forgotten,
passed on but still alive through us,
you left this world so suddenly
and left the ones that love you still
so completely lost and alone.

You left an empty space with your leaving
filled only with pain and sadness
and a touch of anger too,
it feels so unfair that you were taken
and that we were separated so soon.

Your still missed everyday
more then words can say,
if tears could build a path
then we'd be together once again.

16 years today that you've been gone
and it's so hard to keep going on,
I wish that we'd had just one more day
but then one day more would've never be enough.

The hollow, empty space within our heart
is full of such pain today,
I'd give anything to go back in time
and change that one fateful day
and have you with us once more.

The only comfort that I can find
is knowing that your still with me,
your the guardian angel that looks out for me
and I know that your in a better place
but that doesn't mean that I don't still miss you.

I see your smile when I'm alone
and hear your laugh all of a sudden,
I'm doing my best to be strong and go on
the way I know you'd want me to
but it's so hard without you here.

Rest in peace today and always,
know that your still loved
more then words can say
and missed so much everyday,
you'll always live on in our hearts

I wanted to let Shane's friends and family know that a football player in Mountain View Wyoming is wearing his name this year. This year the football team is participating in the Heroes on Helmets Foundation. Shane's sacrifices for our country have not been forgotten. God Bless

It's been a while bro, I think of you all the time, I retired, made it thru 5 deployments and told all my Marines about you. And here we are 13 years later, crazy right? Save a spot for me man and I am sorry. This pain never goes away, say hello to my mom.

Shane,

Its been 8 years since your passing. I miss you bro. You were always there for me when i needed you. You helped me keep my head straight and out of trouble. I remember the time I was late to formation and i had to scrub the catwalk during libo. Instead of going out you stayed there with me and scrubbed until 2 am. I found some pictures of us while i was going through some old stuff. I will try to post them if i can so everybody can see. I hope to see you soon. I love you bro.

To the Family of Shane Goldman,
I have worn the black
"Heroes Bracelet" with Shane's name and the date of his death for the past five years. In that time I only took it off once, that was the day my daughter married. To honor Shane, I will continue to wear it until the war is done. Then I had always thought to send it to his family. Whenever anyone askes me about the bracelet I explain it's for Shane, where he was from and when he died. I wish there was more I could do to honor Shane. This one person's small attempt to let you know he will never be forgotten.
You all truly have my best wishes, stay strong.

It is difficult to know what to say since I want to express my sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Lance Cpl Goldman. Please know that your loved one is not forgotten. I wish everyone impacted by this tragic loss strength and peace. I hope that Lance Cpl Goldman knew that there are people in America who respect his great courage in serving as a member of the US military. Although I did not know him, I know that he must have been a very special person to be willing to do something that most Americans will never have to experience, and for that we can never say thank you enough.
Thank you Lance Cpl Goldman!

Today you were so much on my mind. I think of you every day but for some reason a little more today. Chey looks great, you would laugh your tail off if you were here to see her. Give Jason a hug, and let him know his mom sure does miss him and can't wait to see you two. Love forever, Aunt Cammie

THANK YOU RIP

Youre friendship was one like no other. You were special, a very bright star in many peoples eyes. You were one of the most genuine persons I have ever known, and such a great friend. I will never forget you, who you were, and what you did, for so many. Its hard to believe is been 3 1/2 years. The last time I saw you was at Walmart, in uniform, you told me you were about to ship out again. You were so grown up, so brave, truly a man. I still cry when I think of you, but smile at the memory you left. Thank you for everything. Though you may be gone from our grasps, you'll never be gone from out hearts. God bless you Shane.

My husband is also proudly serving our country as well, and I stand by him all the way.

July 31, 2007

If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guest book for the rest of my life, but I promised LE RON A. WILSON (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.

Thank you for your willingness to defend the United States of America and all that we hold sacred. Though tears can never bring you back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that you made and our sorrow at your passing. You are truly a hero and your sacrifice will never be forgotten. Your mission on earth is complete. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the heroes who have passed before.

Shane, although I didn't know you personally, you went to school with several of my kids.I just want to say thank you for the ultimate sacrifice you gave for me and all americans. I had the privilige of meeting your mom at my grandson's easter party. I could see the pain she was trying to hide and my heart broke for her. She realized my worst nightmare,my son is also a United States Marine. There are no words to say to her, except you will not be forgotten and we appreciate your dedication to your country. You were the best of the best, and I know your Mom is very proud.I will lift her up in my prayers.I know you are watching over the other Marines and soldiers. God Bless you for giving your all..You were the Best.

Shane,

You truly are a hero in my eyes. Even though I also serve my country it is never really understood what it is like to pay the ultimate price until something like this happens.

Thank you for protecting my freedom.
