We wanted you to know that we will be honoring and remembering your loved one this holiday season. We are sending Care Packages to our deployed troops in his name. Each package will carry the name, photo, service branch, rank and hometown of Harvey Emmett Parkerson III US Marine Sergeant.

Another birthday ... another year ... gone by ... it's just so hard to believe how time flies. I was so happy your Mom was able to go to San Diego this year for your birthdays. I hope it was good for her :-) I can't wait to hear what she has planned for this weekend. I never realized the true meaning of Memorial Day until you were gone. My wife and I live in Orland and often during our walks notice the memorial in front of one of the homes nearby. I wanted to honor Sgt. Parkerson's memory by finding out more about him. There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. It's hard to believe you've been gone almost 3 years. I know your Mom's heart aches for you day in and day out. Mother's Day & your birthday is a tough time for her. But it also means it's getting closer to Memorial Day ... and attending Memorial Services and Dedication Services makes her feel near to you. She can share her pride w/others in what her son believed in. And the freedoms his life continues to bring the rest of us. I truly believe this brings her strength to carry on. Wow! What a BIG year for you and your Mom. I can't believe you would've been 30! I really can't believe your Mom is 50! The only gift I could give was to spend the day with her at your special tree in Paradise. I know she would've loved to have been in San Diego with the rest of the family ... but even though we were in different places, your friends and family were there for you both ... showing how much you both are loved & how deeply you are missed. We stood & watched the balloons float their way to you in heaven ... 'til we couldn't see them anymore. Hope you liked all our messages. :-)

But each momentous day that comes

The first Christmas we had without you

Please watch over Robert as he makes his way through boot camp. Protect him and help him stay positive. Give him the strength and courage to get through this challenging time and help him stay healthy, physically and mentally. This is definitely a time when a kid needs his big brother the most! Though you can't be there physically or send him a letter of encouragement, you are undoubtedly with him there in spirit and are as proud of him as the rest of us are.
I can't wait to set his Marine picture up next to yours and Bennie's!

Paying tribute to Sgt. Harvey E. Parkerson, on the anniversary of the day, he gave his life for our country and our freedom. A Multitude of Thanks for his many years of service and dedication.
Rest Well young Hero, in the Mighty Hands of God and may God's Loving Grace and comfort continue to be with the Parkerson family.
Those who Made the Ultimate Sacrifice, So Many and So Young, shall NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.
