Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this month and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Christopher Belchik US Marine Corporal.
We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.
We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

I am a veteran, and a friend of your brother, Brian. I did not know you, but I can tell that everyone who did thought the world of you. As I write these words, I am reminded of my years in service to our country, and how important it is to honor, and remember all American service men, and women who gave their life doing their duty. Thank you! Know that even though you have left your loved ones behind, not a moment goes by where they do not honor, and cherish your memory. God Bless you, and your family.

Chris and to your family... I spoke with you just hours before you went outside the wire. My name is sergeant Rick Burris. We go way back all the way to the begining...You where Belchick and I was Burris. I can remember the storieis we would tell about the first fast food place we where going to eat at when we got home. When I heard the news that you had given your ALL I was so proud at the time. But know I wish I had you for a friend. I deal with PTSD everyday and I need you here with me now more than ever. For some reason after all we ent through over there the loss of you still ways heavy on my mind. They say that all gave some but some gave all. It kills me everyday that you gave all and didnt take me with you. You and your family are always in my thoughts and my prayeres...you make me want to be a stronger man. If there is anything I can do for you, you let your family know and I will be there. For what it is worth there is a plaque hanging up in the mess hall with your name on it and it reads my the wind always be at you back; and the sun always shine upon your face; and may the wings of detinay carry you aloft into the stars...It still hangs there today in FOB St Mike. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and I am sorry that it has been so long but I have been fighting my own effect of war too. I miss you brother and I hope to see you soon.

To the parents of Christopher: I am so sorry for your loss. As the proud father of a newly minted Marine (1/16/09) it's all pretty new, but I've bought in to the Marine family ideas. He is proud of his accomplishment and so are we. May your son's name live on in the corp's history.

Daer Parents of Cpl. Christopher Belchik,
I am saddened by the death of your son. It saddens me that such a wonderful man was taken too soon. I saw the tribute and it is clear from the pictures that Chris was a brave man--but more than that he was a good man, a gentle man and a compassionate man--values that can get lost when war is part of one's life. This I believe is Christopher's greatest gift to all of us, his humanity in a time of inhumanity.
May his memory be a blessing to us all.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Christopher, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Dear family of Cpl. Christopher Belchik
We want to say thank you. We understand that no words can be adequate for your sorrow. We certainly do not want to intrude upon your privacy. As Americans we want you to know that we deeply appreciate the ultimate sacrifice your loved one has made for all of us. We also would like for you to be aware that with this letter comes our special concern and prayers for you. We are all safer because young men and women who love their country, and know the value of a free nation, are willing to put themselves in harms way, and lay down their lives to keep this nation free and safe for all of us.
Your sacrifice is also very great. We know that we can give little comfort; however, the knowledge that your loved one did not die in vain, but died in the service of our country, gives each of us a noble example of the value of life, and the responsibility of freedom. We hope this will bring pride and comfort to you.
We at Gethsemane Church believe that there is purpose to life. We send this letter with our deepest appreciation for the greatest of sacrifices, you and your loved one have given to this country. We know it is not enough, but please allow us to assure you that your loved one is not forgotten.
Very Sincerely
FrankG. Noyes (Pastor)

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

Chris's Family,
There are no words to express my gratitude to Chris and to all of those that loved him. Thank You!
I also lost a loved one in November 2006, Msg Andy Yost. Our families comfort came from above and from the families of those who also lost loved ones. I had the privelage of watching the Tribute to Chris. Incredible!!!! After watching, I felt like I knew him. A man of such courage and bravery, recognized by a Bronze star. You must be so proud. It is sometimes hard to believe that we have men like Chris who are so willing to risk and sacrifice their lives for us. Looking down from above, I am sure he is smiling proud, knowing his family is keeping his memory alive. Love and God Bless You, I will keep you all in my prayers.

Dear Lynn & Jim:
I thought of you often this past Memorial Day weekend, thinking how painfully significant this holiday has become since you lost Christopher. I'm so sorry he's gone and I wish I could have met him.
You've helped me to understand that Memorial Day is a far more meaningful holiday than many Americans regard it.
Thank you for sharing your story with us and for opening your home and hearts to FOX viewers around the country.

On this Memorial day 2007 I viewed a short story on FOX News this evening. It regarded your son, and I felt compelled to express my thoughts and the thoughts of many I work with. I am a NYC firefighter and can speak on behalf of many. Your son and many like him embody the true meaning of the word hero. Please don't ever think that a day goes by and the sacrafice your son has made is forgotten or not appreciated. Although many would like to, most cannot and will not ever be the brave man your son was. Some say hero's are born, but some also believe that from where they come has much to do with it. Therefore, something must also be said for the families that raise these brave souls and so the country also owes you a debt of gratitude. Although I never had the fortune of knowing your son, or the many like him, those who did should consider themselves honored.

I DO NOT KNOW CPL. BELCHIK BUT FROM WHAT I HAVE READ HE IS A GREAT REPRESENTATIVE OF THE NAVAL SERVICES. AS THE SON OF A MARINE WHO WAS BORN ON NOVEMBER 10 I AM WELL AWARE OF WHAT USMC STANDS FOR. EVER SINCE THEY WERE FORMED THERE HAVE BEEN MEN IN THE CORPS WHO HAVE SHOWN UNCOMMON VALOR. THIS IS A SMALL CLUB COMPARED TO THE OTHER SERVICES BUT QUITE ELITE. IT IS AN HONOR AND A PRIVILIGE TO HAVE SUCH MEN GUARD OUR COUNTRY. I FEEL FOR YOUR LOSS. MY SON-IN-LAW WAS KILLED IN IRAQ ON JANUARY 22,2007. HE WAS IN 2/7 CAV OF THE 1ST CAVALRY DIVISION. THESE ARE HARD TIMES FOR THOSE OF US WHO HAVE A SON WHO IS NOT COMING HOME. BUT GOD GAVE HIS SON SO THAT WE MIGHT SEE OURS AGAIN. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE IN OUR PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS. THANK YOU,

To the Family and Friends of Cpl. Christopher Belchik:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.

I served with Chris in Echo Co. during the invasion while apart of the MEU. I remember we were ready to come home when we got the word to go in. We all came home that time. Chris was a great Marine and used his experience from that deployment to teach the young Marines new to the unit what to expect. I am sad that I wasn't able to go on that second trip to Iraq with him and all of those wonderful guys of 2/2 echo co. I wish I could have been right there with them. But I did go during the same time but with 1st Light Armored Reconnaisance Bn and met up with them in Fallujah. They were all happy to see me and they told me of all the close calls and not so close ones. I will miss Chris and so will all the Marines from 2/2 that he touched. God Bless

In time, there will come a day when the tears of sorrow will softly flow into sighs of remembrance. Your heart will begin to heal itself.
Grieving will be interrupted by episodes of joy; and you will hear the whisper of hope.
There will come a day when you will welcome the pangs of remembrance as a sun shower of the soul; a turning of the tide; the promise of peace.
There will come a day when you will risk loving, go on believing,
and treasure the remembering.

There are times when words are not enough so may God's eternal promises and everlasting love surround you.
I am with thee . . . I will strengthen thee.

I lived with Chris for awhile in the barracks at Camp Lejeune, Chris was a good man, and awesome marine. i was a proud member of his fireteam we spent many a nights in Africa talking about the women we loved and the plans we had when we got out and the great times we had in the past. I will miss his stories the way he couldn't hold still, you never knew which way his hands would go, one thing you did know was at the end of his story you were either laughing so hard your stomach hurt or you felt something inside he had a way to touch your heart. he will never be forgotten.
Chris;
hey buddy i miss you so much, we had a lot of good times, i wish you were here to meet my family i got the most beautiful son he is only 9 months old but he is a monster at times. I talk about you to my wife all the time, she said she wishes she could have met you. i try to tell stories like you did, but people look at me funny. you are unique i will never forget you my brother, and i wish i could tell you this in person but god had a different plan. I am a better man because of you and the things you taught me. You were one of the best i will miss you each and everyday. I love you

Psalm 23
1
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
3
He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
This is a verse that I have found to be comforting to me during my husbands death. Remember that when it seems that no one else is round, God is still there with you! And he will be your rock!
My daughter,McKaLyne, and I send our heartfelt sympathy for your loss! God Bless this warrior, God Bless those whom serve freedom's cause! They are our true HERO's!!!!

Thank you for your service to our country and your unbelievable bravery. You joined my son, Cpl. Todd Godwin, shortly after his departure from this earth into the arms of his Heavenly father in July of 2004. May the sacrifices of so many never be forgotten and be appreciated. I know we, the families of the fallen will never forget. Thank you marine, for being willing to do what others could not or would not do.

My husband was in Christopher's battalion in iraq. I dont know if they knew each other or not. My husband is back in Iraq again. I just happened to see christophers profile under "fallen heroes". I've never met him, but I just started to cry and i just had to write. I am so sorry Christophers life was cut too short.

Every man who died for freedom,
has a place with God on high,
and beside our Heavenly Father,
they will live and never die.
Every man whose name is written
on a cross of snowy white
is engraved in the hearts of people
who are free of fear and might.
Every man who journeyed from us,
lingers closely still today,
and we must preserve freedom
so their trust we won't betray.
Every man who gave the fullest
shall be honored through the years,
and the ones they left behind them
wet their graves with flowing tears.
So memorial brings memories
of days that have gone by,
and thoughts of those who dwell in heaven
so our freedoms never die.

I feel through talking with you that I have grown to know Chris. He is there with you everyday....through blue butterflies, running deer and hummingbirds.....he is the whisper of the wind through your hair. Say his name in your heart and he will be you always. Marines say that the best compliment any one can say to them is "Job well done Marine"....so to Chris
"JOB WELL DONE MARINE" you will remain in my heart for ever.
