Spence you are always alive in my heart and mind thou at rest in peace. Ms. Tammy I remember those nights you would bring him those home made Rice Krispie treats and he would share them with me, I remember the nights we would conversate about who was better back when Latta and Marlboro County went to the state championship in basketball and how he would always tell me Raymond was a scrub and I would give him the same treatment about some of his H.S. superstars. I love you Tammy and McNeil family!

Spence it's been 5 years and I just want you and your family to know that you will never be forgotten for the sacrifice you gave. You rest with my son and the sons and daughters of many that have passed on since you did. May God be with all these families.

It is difficult to know what to say since I want to express my sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Pfc McNeil. Please know that your loved one is not forgotten. I wish everyone impacted by this tragic loss strength and peace. I hope that Pfc McNeil knew that there are people in America who respect his great courage in serving as a member of the US military. Although I did not know him, I know that he must have been a very special person to be willing to do something that most Americans will never have to experience and for that we can never say thank you enough.
Thank you Pfc McNeil!

To the family of Pfc. McNeil,
Please know that just as your loved one will remain in your hearts and minds, his sacrifice and that of your family, will remain with the people he died defending. Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for his bravery and selflessness, or the heartache we feel for your loss. May God grant you the peace that passes all understanding.

Spence,
Not one day goes by that I don't think of you and praise god that I knew you. As a Soldier, and especially as a friend. The love that you had for your mother and sister were present in every move you made. They are proud of you. I am sorry you are gone but you have a lasting memory in my heart.

If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guest book for the rest of my life, but I promised LE RON A. WILSON (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.

Those we love remain with us, for love itself lives on...
And cherished memories never fade, because a loved one's gone....
Those we love can never be, more than a thought apart....
For as long as there is memory, They'll live on in the heart.
May the memories of your loved one, live in your heart always.
