Aleina Ramirez Gonzalez Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 19, 2005.
Aleina Ramirez Gonzalez grew up watching her father serve in the military _ from Vietnam to two tours in Iraq during the first Gulf War. "She was a brave one because it was the third time she went to Iraq," said her father, William Ramirez. Ramirez Gonzalez, 33, of Hormigueros, Puerto Rico, was killed April 15 in a mortar attack in Tikrit. She was based at Fort Stewart. Ramirez Gonzalez, born in the southwestern Puerto Rico town of Guayanilla, spent 14 years in the National Guard and joined up for active duty less than a year ago. Her father said she hoped to retire from military service after 20 years and become eligible for a pension.

12 days before she died, Aleina was one of the soldiers from FOB Dagger that brought me to and from FOB Danger, so I could conduct religious services at Dagger. As a Chaplain, I relied on brave soldiers like Alaina for protection. I am grateful for and will never forget her service! My prayers to her family and loved ones! Blessings and peace!

Amiga, I will never forget how you took care of me. I remember waking up to a nice warm plate of food that you brought me because I was sleeping and missed chow time. You did not have to do it but you did. Always thinking of other before yourself. I admired and still admire you for your courage and dedication. Never complaint and always with a smile. Amiga, I still, after 15 years carry all of your belongings with me. If I never find your mom or your brother, I promise you Amiga that I will keep them with me until my day comes. I love you so very much and miss you. You were a wonderful person and an inspiration for all of us.
PS: If any of your family members can read this message they can contact me so I can give them your stuff. [email protected]
I love you Amiga

Your resting place is monolithically beautiful but it monolithically hurts you had to rest there so young. I'm now the age you were when you paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country on a rainy tragic night battling in Iraq that I will never forget. Losing you changed me forever. I promised you that I would not let it change me for the worst but for the better. I have struggled to always live up to that promise and it hurts me because you were the most amazing sister in arms and woman ive ever known and I only want to honor your life and sacrafise by trying to fill your monolith boots and I promise you again that I'm going to try. I love you battle. Thank you for being an angel to me in life and in death. You should still be here.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers today.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

Please contact me and I will email you back a copy of an
Angel and soldier drawing.

I did not know Aleina, but I am remembering on
this day she gave her all.
She is my hero.

Sincerely,

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

To the family of Spc. Gonzalez, we thank you for giving the ultimate sacrifice for our country and that we might remain free. Our son served during the Gulf War as a crewchief on the CH-47 helicopter. God saw fit to bring him home safely. John 15:13 tells us that giving ones life for a friend is the greatest gift. Spc. Gonzalez gave her life for millions she did not know. God Bless.

Aleina Ramirez Gonzalez was the niece of my dearest friend, Lourdes Gonzalez Rodriguez. She was such a wonderful person to everyone. I am so terribly sorry this had to happen. It was quite a shock. My heart aches for her family. They are beautiful people who will miss her so much. God bless you, Aleina, you did pay the ultimate sacrifice but I know your reward is great!!!""
