You´ll never know the impact you had on my life. You are a beautiful soul. Please visit me in my dreams again. I miss you, Adam.

LCpl Jeffery Adam Bishop in KIA, April 20, 2007, in Al Anbar Province Iraq, he was with the 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, from Camp Lejeune, N.C.

He was the same age as my son. Went to the same high school. Joined the Marines about the same time as my son.

I was so fortunate, my son stayed safe. Completed his service and them went on to graduate from college and is now an engineer.

This young man's mother wasn't as lucky.
I think of her every day. My heart still hurts for her.

For this memorial day, I remember Lcpl Jeffery Adam Bishop. May I never take for granted how lucky I am that my children are alive and healthy. How lucky I am that my son served and came home safe. I never want to forget this young man, the sacrifice he made, the loss his mother feels and the importance of or military men and women.

It's that time again my Brother. You are not forgotten.

Adam Bishop, who died by hostile fire in Fallujah, Iraq April 20, 2007, with a ceremony on Friday at 10 a.m. at The Renaissance Center. The stretch of Highway 70 dedicated for Bishop, a Dickson County High School graduate, runs from Dykeman Road to North Charlotte Street.

House Bill No. 75, which made the highway segment renaming official, passed this summer at the State Legislature and was presented by state Rep. David Shepard of Dickson and supported by state Sen. Doug Jackson of Dickson. ...

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

Tomorrow it will be a year that I saw you last. It was another sad time, when your dad passed. Even thought he was very ill, losing a loved one is never easy. I told you how proud I was of you and thanked you for the service that you were doing. Now, less than a year, you are not with us, but your spirit and honor will live forever. Your cousin.

I don't know how to begin this and words still to this day are not easy to come by. Adam, we miss you very much. We (your family) are all so very proud of you. I would like to take this opportunity to send my condolences to the bishop family. Although LCpl Bishop did not serve under my command his sacrifice will not go without notice he like so many served and served with honor. I am very proud of our Marines and what they stand for. I knew Adam in high school. He was a great guy. Always smiling and joking around. He was always there to cheer you up when you were down. I was so proud of him when he joined the Marines. I myself joined the Navy not too long after he enlisted. I know how hard it is to be away from your loved ones and friends. His family is in my prayers. I did not know Adam, but my boyfriend did. He served with Adam in Afghanistan, I think it was, and he was very sad when he heard the news from a fellow former Marine. We went to the funeral, and I was deeply touched. I appreciate Adam and his whole family for the sacrifice they have made. I'm very sad for all of you, and I hope this hurtful time passes quickly. I just wanted to say that Adam was more than just a friend he was a true hero. I had the honor of knowing Adam from High School and i will never forget him or what he did for his country.

We here at home are sorrowed by the loss of a most talented and skilled Marine.

And of this moment I know he's looking down upon each and all of us praying for our safety as well.

We all pray for the safe return of our troop's and will deal with the heart felt aftermath for each and every one in their time of need for those that return home.

I must say that it's hard to deal with at time's but for All of us who have friend's, relatives or just know one serving our country.

It's trully not how they passed in life it's how they lived which is important.

My heart goes out to you. I know Adam in High School and he was a great guy. I am in the Army my self and is about to deploy for my second time at the end of this year. My heart is heavy because Adam wasnt just a great son, American,or a person he was a hero.

I am greatly sorry for your loss. I was good freinds with your son. I have gone to formal schools such as AMGLC for Machine Gunners with him. We were both deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq together. He had the best personality and was always able to put a smile on anyones face in any situation. My heart and prayers go out to your family as well as your son. For I know he's up there looking down on us ready to protect and serve us from above. Your son was a great individual. Once again I am sorry for your loss.

We can't imagine what you have been going through since being notified of the death of your young Warrior. The Military and families all over the USA and world are grieving with you and praying for you. What a very brave individual you have in your family that would give up a life for their homeland and its people so they can remain free. Your Freedom Fighter has served the Country above and beyond the call of duty, let no one ever tell you different. With the mission now completed your Warrior has been redeployed to Heaven to sit on the right hand of the Supreme Commander and Chief. The Father above has Jeffery in his arms and will give him peace as well as eventually easing your pain and suffering. God speed to you and Lance Cpl. Jeffery A. Bishop, our HERO. I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
