May your dreams bring you peace in the darkness
May you always rise over the rain
May the light from above always lead you to love
May you stay in the arms of the angels
May you always be brave in the shadows
Till the sun shines upon you again
Hear this prayer in my heart, and well neer be apart
May you stay in the arms of the angels
May you hear every song in the forest
And if ever you lose your own way
Hear my voice like a breeze, whisper soft through the trees
May you stay in the arms of the angels
May you grow up to stand as a man, Love
with the pride of your family and name
when you lay down your head, or to rest in your bed
May you stay in the arms of the angels.

Happy Birthday. Today would have been your 30th. Thinking and remembering you and all the beautiful memories you left behind. You will forever stay in minds and hearts of those who dearly loved you and will go on forever loving you. Just over two weeks ago your best buddy Deni got married. We are sure that from heaven above you were watching, smiling and cheering Deni and Daniela on as they exchanged their vows to spend the rest of their life together.
Thank you for protecting us and the ultimate sacrifice you gave for our country.

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Romeo Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

Hi Enzo-
Three and a half years have passed and it's a new year... I miss you just as much as that horrible day in May 2007. Sometimes I miss you so much sometime I feel like I can't breathe.
Everything reminds me of you. Yesterday I was passing your old house on Park Ave and I was thinking of all of us hanging out on the couch on the porch. Today, I walked past a tropical fish store near me and thought how you would have loved to go in there and I would probably have a huge fish tank right now, involuntarily ; ) Also, The Hangover was on and I was thinking how you would have loved this movie. More than anything I am just so sad that I won't get one of your bear hugs or have you bite my head anymore.
It has taken me this long to write something, anything because it still hurts so bad but I am still grateful that I had you in my life for close to 24 years and I cherish every memory.
I love you always...

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers
Soldiers write history…they pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever
Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away
Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go
We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light
Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray
Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

Like a few others here, I too had the great oppturnity to get to know SSG Vincenzo Romeo. Having been his Team Leader and Squad Leader for a period of time, he was someone that could always be counted on, both for a good laugh and in a tacital situation. For the days past that we were in Attack Co. together, I thank you for everything you helped accomplish. While in the Army many people are put together in squads, platoons, compaines, etc, but it is because of people like Romeo that these people are brought together to form a family. You can say that Romeo was a catalyst and he helped forge many relationships that will exist for years to come. I will take part with Manny, Ben, Brandon and the countless others in rembering what Romeo accomplished while he was with us. He was a great soldier, and a good friend to many people. I wish that I didn't have to write this here, but forever Romeo will be remembered for who he was and what he did.

Having grown up in NJ many years ago and very familiar with Lodi, how do you thank someone for making it possible for me to walk freely in a neighborhood miles away, and for protecting my family, and for laying down his life for someone he doesn't know ? The only way I know is to say quietly in personal prayer, "Thank You, Lord, for sending heroes like Vincenzo to protect us all, and if there is any hope to my Faith, reveal to his precious family a view of the glory of his new home with You"

My family and I are deeply saddened by the loss of such a wonderful young man and a pillar of the community. While I did not know Enzo personally, my mother tells me that the family lived on our block in Fairview before moving to Lodi.
Enzo's dear aunt Pina and uncle CeCe are long time friends of my parents and I can hardly bring myself to think about Pina and CeCe without being overcome with emotion. I can only imagine how devastated Mr. and Mrs. Romeo, Enzo's fiance', Bruno and Carmelo must feel. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this very sad time. I hope you will find comfort in knowing that your son, fiance', brother, and fiance' was a wonderful, selfless and brave person who gave his life for the "Land of Opportunity".
My husband, George, who met Enzo at a Calabria Club Dinner during the Christmas holidays, recalls Enzo as being a very impressive young man who truly loved his work.
We all came here as immigrants and it is because of people like Enzo that we are able to live in a country where we are free to be whoever we want to be.
Now Enzo is an Angel that will guide and protect all of you in a way that only he could.
May God Bless All of You Always!

May 8, 2007
To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.
