Hello,

We apologize for being so late in expressing our deepest condolences to you and your family. We want you to know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo, service branch, rank and hometown of Joshua McKay Moore US Army Corporal.

We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families, friends and others who support our mission.

We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.

Sincerely,

In memory and honor of Joshua M. Moore. I will always be grateful to him for his sacrifice for our Country. I am a high school senior in a government class in Alabama. As an assignment, I was to search for fallen heroes with the same last name as myself. I found Joshua, and I just wanted to express my condolences. Again, thank you for your sacrifice to this country. Because of it, we are able to enjoy our freedom.

Thank you,

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Joshua, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

My heart goes out to the family of this Brave Soldier !!!! I had the pleasure of meeting Josh's Family at Josh's Funeral, nine months after I too had lost a child in this War in Iraq.
I never got to meet Josh, But I am soooo proud to of had him protecting me and my Country. Nothing can be said to the family to take the pain away of loosing a child so tragically.
I am a Christian and it has been said that the Lord always takes the best ones first and I know that Josh and my Son SFC. Tony L. Knier are in great hands and are watching over us always.
God bless the family of this brave Soldier and remember everytime you feel a breeze blowing over you, it's Josh letting you know he is here with you!!!!
Rest in Peace Brave One !!!!

Thank you for the sacrifice made by Pfc Moore and the sacrifice made by everyone who loves and misses him! May God bless all of you!!

August 16, 2007

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

A PROUD MARINE MOM

July 3, 2007

Hi,
I am from Jellico Tennessee.
I didn't know Josh Moore, but my heart breaks for his family's loss.

My brother's mother-in-law lives in Elkton Ky. and is friends with Josh's Mom. She was telling me about it, and I just wanted to write a few lines.

The One thing that we have to stay focused on is he was a born again christian. And he is in the presence of the lord now. Its so sad that he didn't get to live a very long life here , but God is in control and he knows what is best even though we think we do most the time.

It's hard to try and understand why God chose to take him at such a young age, and its something you just have to have GOD help you to get thru. He gives us the strength and courage to face each day.

I haven't lost anyone in the war. but I lost a brother . HE was hit by a drunk driver and killed almost instantly, leaving behind a wife and a 5 year old daddy's boy. My mom and dad was devistated. Even though there were 7 more of us children we couldn't take his place. My Dad was a Baptist minister and my Mom a wonderful christian woman and mother. The loss of my brother would have destroyed her if it hadn't been for the lord seeing her through it.
My Mom and Dad have both passed away since then, but I truly know that they are walking hand in hand with one another in HEAVEN .

Along with my sweet sister in law that was killed in Lexington in a bicycle accident and others who have died with christ in their hearts.
MY heart goes out to all who have lost loved ones in this war.
I thank each one for their selflessness and bravery and sacrafice . I just pray for those that don't know God , that they will except him and I look forward to seeing Josh in Heaven some day and thanking him face to face.

GOD BLESS YOU AND ALL OUT SOLDIERS

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers

Soldiers write history…they pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still

We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever

Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away

Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go

We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light

Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray

Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound

Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

June 20, 2007

Dear Joshua's Mom and your family ,
I am a Chinese mom and a born-again Christian, I absolutely understand your feelings. because, I am also strongly missing my son -John Gao, a teenage Christian who laid down his own 15.6 year life for his classmates two year ago in the Atlantic Beach Currents.
But, we should have steadfast faith that our sons never "dead" to let us lose them. they just rest in the Lord' Arms. we will reunite with them someday in Eternal Kingdom by the Lord Faithful Promise, let's expect that day joyfully and peacefully. Amen !

May the peace, joy from the Lord be with you and your family !

Josh,
I am very proud to say that I am an American and its because of you and others like you.You are a true Hero and I am so proud to have known you. Your service is one that will stick in my heart and my mind forever. It was really beautiful and so heart breaking to see one of the honor guard members trying to hold back the tears as he slowly saluted you when changing guards. I know that you could feel the respect from all that was there and those that waited for you on the road side as you took your last ride in your new truck.I wrote you a poem and gave it to your mother along with a framed photo that I got from the paper. Just my way of saying God Bless You and.....Thank You! for all that you gave.
"He's Just Away"
Even though he was young,He was still a man.
Fighting this War in a foriegn land.
He has given his all by giving his life.
He done his job and he fought the fight.
God guards him now with arms of steel
He's a soldier in Heaven on greener fields
Always remember like the flowers of May
He's not gone forever.....
" He's Just Away"
In memory of a great man and with love and respect.

I was never fortunate enough to meet Josh, but I've heard alot about him. I am friends with one of his cousins. I saw the sadness and heartache that his death caused not only for his family, but an entire community. I wish I'd had the opportunity to meet him, even though I feel as if I had known him for years. My prayers and thoughts go out to the family, friends, and anyone else who has lost an "American Hero."

June 11, 2007

As I stood along the street today for Josh's funeral procession I noticed several things that really touched my heart. One was an older woman who had been pushed to the curb by her caregiver. She was elderly, frail and in a wheelchair yet she clutched her American Flag with a strong hand to her heart. She will remember the sacrifice of your loved one.
Further down the road was another sight I will not forget. Many were lined along the streets of our hometown, Lewisburg. On Smith Hill was an elderly gentelman rising from his wheelchair after paying his respects as Josh's procession drove by. He will not forget.
I was so moved by those whom we call neighbors, friend, and comrades. We are all connected and do grieve for your loss. My children knew your son from school and church.
Please know we will never forget your son, his life, his honor and his love of country, God and fellow man. Your family is in our prayers.

Thinking of you:

Please accept my deepest sorrow on the loss of your beloved son; he was a brave American, a great soldier, and an honorable man. He was doing what he wanted to do and he was where he wanted to be, doing his duty. His life was not given in vain, but stands forever in the fight for freedom. His name will live forever and 100 years from now, long after our names are forgotten, his name will burn bright in the history of this great nation. He died for what he believed in and his sacrifice is felt by millions of Americans. I can say no words to help you, because there are no words that will help you; only time and God will give you the peace and comfort that I hope you can find. It will take much time to heal from this loss and may God help you during this difficult time. As a Vietnam Veteran, please accept my prayers and please know that I am praying for you in this, the saddest time of your life. Millions of people are praying for you and may God give you strength.

I am Respectfully,

I understand the pain that you are going though right now. My fiance's sister lost her husband SSG Brock Beery last March. When I heard of your loss I felt your pain. I know that you probally think about how to begin to pick up the pieces. The best way that I know to tell you is always talk about him no matter how bad it hurts, let everyone know that he died an American Hero and this is something that no one can ever take away.

Josh,
My heart is aching. My early memories of you were that of a cute and curious little boy running and playing. When your parents, or Mamaw, brought you to your Great Grandmothers house you were always such a good little boy, well mannered and funny. You quite often had us laughing at things you said or did. You also liked having your picture taken. I will never forget your smile. I treasure every picture I have of you. Your mamaw, my sister, adored you! As well as the other grandchildren. As you got older, you still came and visited your family and came to family dinners and such. A lot of teens would have had better things to do than visit with old people. I can't tell you how proud I am of you or your decision to join the millitary. You were so proud to be a soldier! You lost your life, gave the ultimate sacrifice, while serving our country. I hope people will remember that. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have a place in my heart the will live on forever!
Love forever,
Aunt Rosa

To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.
