Words cannot express the dreams I have still seeing you there that fine clear sky afternoon. Life is precious.My daughter is getting big.Still remember when you told me everything was going to be ok when I had my problems. Dear Family, I know my pain of his death is nothing short of yours. He was a great soilder and a better man. I miss him deeply. I know that he is with god, and is watching over everyone, waiting for us.

My Name is Cody Engstrom and though I am a stranger, I still am touched and sad that a young man with my familys name has passed on in war. Dear family of Andrew, I was sitting at my desk at work in Bethesda, Maryland and looked at the Washington Post. I read through the names of the fallen soldiers and looked at their pictures. For some reason Andrew's picture stood out and I found this book of condolences. I do not know if it helps to know that people that never knew Andrew are deeply saddened by his death. I hope and pray that you find the strength and comfort you need in the coming days to somehow find a way of living in the world without your son and brother. Thank you for this ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Katie and family..please know that I am so sorry for your loss. I am an army mom also...I share your pain and sorrow. Your son is marching in the Lord's army now...he will never be forgotten.

I also went to basic with engstrom. He was a motovation for all of us. He always tryed so hard to do his best and we always tryed to back him up. I will truly miss this great american hero.

I went to basic training with PFC Engstrom. He had the heart of a lion. I can remember him trying so hard on ruck marches and yelling out loud which motivated the other soldiers. Rest In Peace,

Pfc Andrew Engstrom's family is in our thoughts and prayers. He served with our son in Taji, Iraq. He is deeply missed by his fellow soldiers. We know there are no words that will ease your pain right now but we pray you will find peace and support from those who have gone through this too.

A Soldier stood and faced God,

I met Andy when he lived in Slaton. He was always so sweet and polite. I am so very sorry for your loss and pray that you will find moments of peace to hold on to. When I hear Andy's name I will remember his smile.

ANDREW IS HOME . . WITH THE LORD.

Scripture has always brought peace to my heart and I pray it does the same for Andrew's family.

I did not know Andrew personally, but . . . through his mom's writing, I could tell he was a soldier this Country could be proud of and a man of character . . . . that this world will miss out on.

Andrew is now a PROUD SOLDIER of the GREATEST ARMY EVER . . . the LORD'S ARMY!!

I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.

To the family of Andrew, my grief for the loss of your son is felt. I know what it's like to loose your child in war as my son was killed in action too. It feels that your heart has been ripped from you and you don't understand why this happened to your child. I've felt all you will feel in the coming days and weeks and though I’m not close in relation to area, but I am very close by email. I offer any support to you and your family that I can. It's with the Grace of God that I've gotten through each day and with His healing love and comfort that I've been able to once again sleep at night and not cry each day. I am Deeply Saddened to learn of the loss of Pfc. Andrew T. Engstrom, the Price this Brave Young Soldier and his family have paid for this country and for freedom, Will Never Be Forgotten.

May Andrew rest safely now, in the Loving Care of God and may the Grace and Comfort of the Lord be with the Engstrom family.
There will Never Be Enough Ways to Humbly Thank these Young Heroes for their Sacrifices, my brother among them. Killed in action in Vietnam in 1967.

Hoping you can feel the thoughts of caring and support that surround you today and in the days ahead, as this Country mourns with you, for Someone Very Precious to you, Who Is A Hero to all of us.
