Michael was the rarest of individuals -- fierce, yet friendly...tough, but soft when soft was needed...a warrior and a gentleman. A true one of a kind. He will always be missed and I hope his children will aspire to be strong and loving like Mike.

To the Curry family in Florida and to Lucia and boys. I am 1SG Hale's wife. We first met in Ft. Benning, GA. I have always remembered the way 1SG Curry spoke fluent Italian due to him being stationed in Vicenzia Italy and also being married to his beautiful wife Lucia. At that time his they only had one child and what a beautiful son they shared. To Lucia - I will always remember the love that 1SG Curry bestowed upon you and your child. God be with you and your family during your time of loss. I will always remember the good times. Much Aloha to you all.

He was indeed a very special person and is missed.

1SG Curry was my Weapons Squad Leader when I was in Bravo Company ("The Legion") 1-508th. He was an inspirational man and a great leader. He will sadly be missed.

My deepest sympathy to the Curry family. Though I am deeply saddened by Michael's death, I am inspired by his dedication, loyalty, and commitment to the oath he swore. One of Michaels last wishes in an email to a classmate regarding his 20yr Highschool Reunion that he would not be able to attend, he asked for them to keep every soldier serving in the military in their prayers. He was a soldier's, soldier and he believed in his country.

He always had a smile on his face and never had a cross word to say about anybody. It doesn't suprise me that he spent his life defending those that could not defend themselves. To the Curry family and his children: I am so sorry for your loss. Mike was a special person and I am honored to have known him. Was an outstanding person and definitely an asset to the military in which he served. I have no doubt that he definitely added to every situation and was appreciated by so many.

To the family....I am so sorry for your loss!! I knew 1SG Curry back in 97-00 while I was in HHC and C co 1/508. The former SSG Curry was a great guy and certainly a mentor to me as a young SGT/SSG. There was something about his professionalism that I always admired. I remember he was the "S-3 air guy" and was instrumental in starting my years of being a jumpmaster.

All I can say is that the Army lost a great leader and the family lost an incredible person. My heart is out to the family in hopes that there is some sense of healing in the future.

I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.

Jesus said, Come to me who are burden and heavy laden and I will give you rest. To the Small/Curry family you have my deepest sympathy. I went to HHH with Michael (c/o '87) and he was a wonderful person and we communicated by e-mail on classmates.com several months before our 20th high school reunion. I also knew Keisha and Nikki very well and they will always have the memories of their brother in their heart.

As the mother of a son who is deployed, I want to send my condolences. Please know that there are many, many people who grieve with you.
