My husband was there the day you died. He watched from above when you were attacked. He felt helpless as he saw what was happening. It changed his life forever. He remembers you every day. It is not something you easily forget I am sure. Thank you for your ultimate sacrifice. Your name is spoken therefore not to be forgotten. Bless you and the loved ones you left behind.

The Lord care for the hearts of his loved ones. My youngest is in the Regiment. Therefore, I know from him the stories. But I have no idea what you feel now. But the best I know how, I am and will pray for your hearts to heal. I am sorry for your loss.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Jason, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Cpl. Jason Kessler. I had 2 children deployed in Iraq and I am Familiar with the hardships these brave young soldiers endure to protect our freedom. Jason did more in his short time than most will accomplish in a lifetime. I honor his memory.

As I go through this process myself, I find myself on the internet looking for news of our soldiers. I'm so sorry for your loss. I know that our soldiers are doing a job that others shun. They are heroes for stepping up. For trying to protect and secure others in countries, where they are not wanted. Your son went anyway, as did mine. They will live on in our hearts. We have the freedom to think and speak and live because of them. Thank you for the service of your son, brother, friend. He is missed and loved.

I had the opportunity to meet Jason my freshman year at Masters. He was my RA and was highly recommended by my cousin who had graduated at from Masters. I was new and a little nervous and Jason befriended me. We did things together and he always was available to talk and hang out. He was a good friend and a blessing in my life.
I had been continuing to talk to Jason through phone calls and also through email and he has continued to be on my heart as a person who really reached out to me. My deepest sympathys go out to the family and I pray that God brings you healing during this time and that you are comforted through the love of God by the body of Christ.

I became friends with Jason in high school and spent a lot of time with him in our youth group at Emmanuel. From the first time I met him, he was a genuine guy who knew no strangers. He was so full of life and always had his ever-present smile beaming across his face. When I learned of his death, that was the first image that popped in my mind. I lost touch with Jason after graduating and regrettably, never had a chance to catch up.
Jason was one of those guys, other guys look up to and try to model themselves after. He was someone who you just knew would do something in life and make a difference. Hearing of Jason’s sacrifice, confirmed this. Volunteering to selflessly serve this country and put others before himself, are attributes of which we can all admire. Putting himself in harms way, to protect our freedoms and the lives of those who can’t stand for themselves, are qualities of a man with conviction. Trusting the Lord and laying down his life so that others may live, make Jason, by every account, a Hero. Jason made the ultimate sacrifice that day and will never be forgotten for it. I’ve read all the medals and achievements he has earned and couldn’t help but think of the crown he now wears. I wish I could thank him for what he has done. For ensuring that my children will grow up with the freedom that we have today. Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Kessler for raising Jason to be the man he was. His character and success in life are true examples of your success as parents. Jason’s sacrifice will not be taken for granted nor will it be unappreciated.
I hope that lives will be touched and souls will be won by Jason’s death. Please know that we’re praying for your family through these difficult days. His time on earth was by our account, too short, but I trust Gods will has been done and know we’ll see Jason again in glory.
Erin, I’ve never met you, but knowing the person Jason was, I can imagine how happy your relationship was. I can’t, however, imagine your sadness. But I trust that God won’t give us anything that we can’t handle and is there for us when we call his name. We’re continuing to pray for you also and trust that God will give strength and peace as you deal with Jason’s death.
I am a better man for knowing Jason and am truly saddened by his death. Jason will be missed.

I knew Jason as at Master's, he was one of those guys who was always positive... while I wouldn't have figured him for a Ranger, I knew him well enough to say his character and resolve made it possible. His faith stood out among peers, and was one of the guys who left a positive mark on people, even if they didn't know him too well. I know it is time to grieve our loss of Jason, but our Sovereign Lord, Christ, had a reason for Jason's departure from earth. I pray for Jason's family to remember Jason's life with joy and praise to our mighty God, who made Jason who he was! - Soli Deo Gloria!

My heart goes out to the family and friends of Jason Kessler. He was a classmate and acquaintance throughout my high school years. He was an amazing person and to know that he left this world at such a young age is incredibly sad.
Jason was someone to be admired, true to his heart. May it be a comfort to know that Jason stood strong for his beliefs and stood for his country. I will remember Jason as an amazing person. To the family and friends-I pray that God gives you peace during this difficult time.

Cpl. Jason Kessler and Family:
Know in your heart that you are a true hero and will never be forgotten. All gave some, some gave all. Rest in peace. You will be missed by everyone’s life you have touched.
To the family, as the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life’s routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family, friends, and all Americans for the sacrifice of one of your family members for our freedom. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May you find comfort in the loving embrace of our Heavenly Father.

If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guest book for the rest of my life, but I promised LE RON A. WILSON (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.

To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.
