Missing Rogelio and remembering him as a young boy who grew up to be a young man with one goal..To be a Marine. As his precious Mother tells us, he fought to achieve his goal. Rogelio willingly sacrificed much in his young life and I am truly honored to have known him.

You are missed very much by so many people and greatly loved which does not fad but get's stronger as time goes on. We all are very proud of you and the service that you so willing gave for our freedom. A job well done, my brave son. God bless you. See you someday.

Well I know it's been a couple of years that have gone by now, but there still isn't a day that goes by that Lcpl Ramirez's name doesn't cross my mind. It's a hard situation to handle and it doesn't seem to get better with time. I'm glad I had the opportunity to serve along side with him and to
also see the expressions on his face when he was able to engage the enemy with the weapon he loved so much.
Ramirez will be forever in my thoughts along with his family. God Bless and I'll see you soon!

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Rogelio, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

He Will Always Always Be Remembered
Melissa Chicas
August 27, 2008
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived
okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here
is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you
every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up
and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were
gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for
me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's
chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life
on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not
be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But
one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a
time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will
give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day
was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the
way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick
him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in
your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember
you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

The thoughts in my mind are full of what you must be going through at this time, my heart breaks at the loss of your Baby Boy, Brother, Grandson, and Nephew the tears fell freely from my eyes at such a sacrifice that has been laid on the alter of freedom. I pray for his Marine Brothers that are still in the fight that they can continue to move forward as Rogelio and Matthew would want them to do. The loss that you feel and that they have suffered will never leave you but I pray with all my being that God will assuage some of the grief with loving memories of your Son, forever an American Hero.

To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.

with tears over flowing my eyes its hard to right this.
Lcpl Ramirez was more than just a Marine or a Hero to me. He was like my brother. For the past nine months i have lived, trained, and even fought in Iraq by his side. My first memory that i have of him is one of leadership. Lcpl Ramirez got to hte fleet (1/1 Charlie co. 4th plt) about two weeks before me. From the very moment that i walked into our squad bays i remember him standing there. He was waiting for us so he could show us what to do. At this time he was also just a new marine, but he thought us everything that he knew. He was the only one to talk to us that day. He didnt have to, but that is the kind of Marine that he was. He would go out of his way to help you, even if he knew that he could get in trouble for doing so. As days, weeks, and months went by he grew as a Marine. Everything that he did, he did it with pride. He wanted to be the best Marine that he could, and he was the best. I remember my rack was right next to his and every morning he would be the first one wake and i remember asking him one day "why do you wake up so early?" he just said " I have to stay motivated." Lcpl ramirez was always motivated. No matter what we just got done doing or what we were about to do next. He always kept a positive attitude about everything. Which helped everyone else. He was always helping other Marines. He is what you would call a Marines, Marine. I didnt know about what happened to him until a few days later. During the time that he was killed, I was at a hospital in Balad, Iraq, getting treating for injuries. I couldnt get the help that i needed in Iraq, so they sent me to Germany for more treatment. from Germany they sent me back to the states. There were two Marines who picked me up from the airport adnd when they did they asked me what happend to Ramirez, i told them nothing, and asked why? At this point i was still not aware of his death. And thats when they told me that he was killed. My heart dropped and and tears started to fall from my face. It was like at first it wasnt real, but as reality set in i was torn with pain and full of guilt. I lay awake at night and just think of him, think of what happened, and ask myself questions like "what if i was there that night, maybe i could have done something to help,.. all of these questions full of what ifs." Even now two days before we lay him to rest i still have guilt. I think that maybe me telling my stories and memories of him might help. I have been asked to do a job that i never thought would be asked of me. I was asked since i served with him would i like to carry the casket on Tuesday. It is by far the hardest thing i have ever been asked to do, but when Tuesday morning comes im going wake up and put on my dress blues with pride and honor and im going to carry the casket.Im not doing it for me, but for all of our Marines in Iraq who cant be here. Im doing it for them. I can only imagine what his family is going thru and i want you to know that im praying for you everyday, all day. And know that I'am sorry for what happened to him.

I am writing to offer my condolences to you and your family over the loss of your HERO Lance Cpl. Rogelio A. Ramirez. I lost my son in Iraq on May 6/2007, so I can well understand your pain of losing a loved one so dear.
When things settle down, I recommend that you contact a man named Michael Reagan @

He will draw one portrait of the fallen soldier. He does this for free and will draw any picture of your choosing. He has drawn presidents and other celebrities. My husband and I got one and it has helped me with the healing process. Michael is a truly gifted artist that captures the very essence of the person he draws. I look at my picture everyday and it gives me a connection that I cannot explain.
I pray you will be guided by a higher power to give you peace, comfort and strength in this time.

To Family and Friends of LCpl. Rogelio A. Ramirez we feel the pain that you feel it may not be the same, as we all feel it in differnts ways at different times. Our sons are together now standing Guard at the Gates of Heaven.
“Remember Our Fallen Heroes”
If you look in the hearts of our heroes
You’ll see tears swelled with pride
Yet underneath there’s a shadow of sadness
For the Soldier no longer at their side.
Side by Side they served with honor
To God’s arms they go one by one
From the hearts of a grateful Nation
We remember our Daughters, our Sons.
Their selfless deeds have been many.
Blood’s been spilled in the sand for liberty.
Without hesitation they guarded our freedom
Over land, in the skies, on the sea.
They answered the cries of the hungry
Liberated those whom where suppressed.
Courageously they safeguarded our glory
With a loyalty that ceases to rest.
With love we pay homage to the fallen
These patriots, our heroes, our friends.
Who’ve paid the ultimate price for freedom
and the flag they chose to defend.
Their Service must never be forgotten
Their deaths won’t ever be in vain
We vow to look after their families
and hope our love will ease their pain.
This flag is to honor the fallen
As a reminder Freedom is not Free
These heroes gave their lives for their Country
They gave their lives for you and for me.

To the family, as the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life’s routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family, friends, and all Americans for the sacrifice of one of your family members for our freedom. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May you find comfort in the loving embrace of our Heavenly Father.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

"I consider that our present sufferings.
are not worth comparing with the glory
that shall be revealed in us."

I am sincerely hoping that you feel the thoughts of caring and support that surround you today and in the difficult days ahead, as this Country morns with you, for someone very precious to you, who is a True American Hero to all of us.
I am so deeply sorry for your loss.
